State Public Health Officials Announce COVID-19 Resurgence Mitigations to Take Effect in Regions 7 and 8 on October 23 |
|
Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) are announcing COVID-19 resurgence mitigations will be implemented in Region 7 (Will and Kankakee counties) and Region 8 (Kane and DuPage counties), beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2020. Both regions are seeing a 7-day rolling average test positivity rate of 8 percent or above for three consecutive days, which exceeds the threshold set for establishing mitigation measures under the state's Restore Illinois Resurgence Plan.
The administration continues to distribute emergency relief for small businesses and communities impacted by the ongoing pandemic. In Regions 7 and 8, approximately $14 million has already been awarded for small businesses and community aid. Businesses in both regions, as well as other regions currently under additional mitigations, will receive priority consideration for the current round of Business Interruption Grants (BIG), with $220 million available to help offset costs and losses businesses have incurred as a result of the pandemic.

Health Department Urges Collaborative Action on COVID-19 Resurgence Mitigations in Region 8 |
|
DuPage County— Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) have announced the need for COVID-19 resurgence mitigation in Region 8, which includes DuPage and Kane counties, beginning Friday, October 23, 2020. The DuPage County Health Department (DCHD) urges residents to take action to slow the spread of COVID-19.
The specific measures to be imposed as of 12:01 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2020 can be found at https://dceocovid19resources.com/assets/Restore-Illinois/COVID-19- Resurgence-Migitations.pdf. These mitigation measures include restrictions such as limiting bar and restaurant service, sports activities, and the sizes of social gatherings.
A reminder that DCHD's Business Response Team (BRT) offers businesses support and guidance to assist in keeping their businesses open safely during the COVID-19 pandemic. This team is available to answer questions and direct businesses to the appropriate resources. For assistance, please contact covid19business@dupagehealth.org.
Additionally, businesses across DuPage County can find resources to support their work at the Choose DuPage website, www.choosedupage.com. Information on the DuPage County Small Business Relief Grant Program, as well as the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) Business Interruption Grants (BIG) are linked at that site.
To support our County and the Region in slowing the spread of this virus, DCHD urges residents to follow the effective public health tools available:

Wear a mask whenever outside your home or around people not from your household;

Watch your distance, staying at least 6 feet from people outside of your immediate household;

Wash your hands or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer often;

Avoid large gatherings, especially indoors;
-
Stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, or if you have been in close contact with a person infected with COVID-19; consult with your healthcare provider for medical evaluation and testing, as needed; and
-
Get your flu shot, to prevent illness from influenza and to prevent possible co-infection from influenza and COVID-19.

Every week, the DuPage County Health Department will be sharing the most frequently asked questions about the coronavirus pandemic to help educate and inform county residents. For the week of October 19, 2020 the FAQ is:
Are tents permissible for outdoor dining?
- Subject to any required municipal and/or local liquor commission restrictions and approval requirements, tents may be used for outdoor dining if at least two sides of the tent are open to allow airflow.
- If more than two sides of the tent are enclosed, this is considered indoors for purposes of the guidelines
Do the mitigation measures impact drive-thru, take-out or delivery for restaurants?
- No. Mitigations do not restrict take-out, drive-thru, or delivery options for restaurants. The guidance only provides for additional operating restrictions for indoor dining.
Do bars and restaurants need to stop accepting customers at 11:00 p.m., or do they have to clear the premises by 11:00 p.m.?
- All patrons must be off the premises by 11:00 p.m. and may reopen at 6:00 a.m. or later. Drive-thru, carry out, and delivery service is still permitted after 11:00 p.m., but customers must depart after obtaining their food and there should not be congregation of customers outside of the restaurant after closure time.

Flu Vaccine Voucher Program DuPage County |

This year, it’s more important than ever to make sure everyone in your family gets a flu vaccine. Getting your flu shot will help to keep you, your family, and your community safe and can help you avoid co-infection of COVID-19 and the flu.
The DuPage Health Coalition is joining partners in DuPage County to make it easier for all of individuals to stay healthy and flu-free. With funding provided by DuPage County, DHC is offering free flu vaccine vouchers to uninsured DuPage County residents whose financial circumstances make it difficult to get their annual flu shot.
Vouchers will be sent to individuals who request them (by email or mail) and can be redeemed at any DuPage County Walgreens until December 31st, while supplies last.

DuPage County Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing Site |

DuPage County is offering community-based COVID-19 drive-thru testing at the DuPage County Complex. The entrance is located on County Farm Road a few blocks North of Roosevelt Road at a stoplight. Follow the signs through the campus to the test site.
The testing site is open Monday through Friday from 7 am until noon or until the daily test capacity of 600 is reached.No appointment, symptoms or insurance is required.

Pillars Community Health offers drive-up testing for COVID-19 across the street from Burr Ridge Middle School in Burr Ridge.
Limited tests available; appointment required; please call 708-PILLARS (708-745-5277) .
Testing is available on Tuesdays from 8:30 - 11 am and Thursdays from 8:30 - 11:30 am to
anyone with symptoms of COVID-19; or anyone with a known exposure to COVID-19 (have been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19); or asymptomatic, high-risk patients, first responders, health care workers, or essential workers who wish to be tested.
