Retention and Engagement Metrics + Data Access Updates
|

On January 11, Youth Development and Family Services providers will have access to new Program Participation metrics- Retention and Engagement in Trust Central. The retention and engagement metrics will help provide a comprehensive view of program participation by measuring the level of engagement or if participants received the dosage expected to see an impact. Additionally, depending on the initiative, providers will get access to data at different levels including site, activity and participant. These new updates will be available through the grids in the Trust Central Metrics Module. In the upcoming weeks, you will receive links to new resources to help you and your team understand and navigate the new metrics and grids.

UM Team COACH Community of Practice – Parenting Programs * |

Join UM Team COACH to launch the first Community of Practice (CoP) for Parenting Program providers! CoPs are groups of people who share a concern or passion for something they do and learn how to do it better through regular interaction. This CoP is a space to reflect on challenges and successes, problem solve issues, and share resources/strategies. Open to Trust-funded Parenting Program provider staff in all roles. First session is Friday, January 29 from 1-2:30 p.m. via Zoom.

Florida Statutes Now Require Public Employers, Contractors to Register for
E-Verify
|
|
Effective January 1, recently passed section 448.095(e) of the Florida Statutes requires all public employers, contractors and subcontractors, including The Children’s Trust providers, to use the E-Verify system to establish the authorization of new employees, including all new subcontractors and professional services consultants, to work in this country. Providers must also obtain and keep an affidavit from its subcontractors affirming that the subcontractors do not employ, contract or subcontract with any individuals who are not authorized to work in the US.
Providers who have been found to violate the statute will have their agreement or contract terminated, and not renewed for at least a year, per Florida Statutes. If a provider’s subcontractor has violated the statute, the provider must immediately terminate the subcontractor.
The E-Verify system is Internet-based and operated by the Department of Homeland Security that verifies the employment eligibility of employees. For more information on E-Verify and 448.095(e), F.S. (2020), click below.

Free Relationship-Focused Parenting Group for Infants and Caregivers |
|
Families First is offering weekly groups that meet via telehealth in both English and Spanish and are open to Miami-Dade County residents. Baby & Me promotes optimal attachment between infants and caregivers, increases knowledge of infant development and behavior, and encourages parents to use responsive techniques during routine interactions with their infants. Groups facilitated by UM trained parenting specialists. Now enrolling for January session. Program funded by The Children's Trust.

Program Support and Youth Voice Training from Project RISE |

Providing programs with creative ideas/materials to make activities happen!
As we navigate together through providing programming during a pandemic, Project RISE has found that programs may need extra materials.
- Providers who are running in-person programming may find that they need more materials to avoid children touching shared items (i.e. balls, arts & crafts materials such as markers, glue, scissors, ingredients for science experiments, etc.)
- Providers who are running virtual programming may find that sending children and youth "activity kits" can allow them to do hands-on projects at home. This can increase the variety of activities that can be conducted virtually.
Project RISE can purchase materials for programs, deliver them and provide staff with coaching designed to best utilize these materials. For more information, please fill out the Request Coaching Assistance form here.
Youth Voice Training from Project RISE
Are you providing children and youth with authentic, meaningful choices throughout your program? Does your program reflect the input of the youth involved? Participants will learn how to provide meaningful choices within activities and opportunities for youth input within the youth program itself. Take a plan to implement back to your program and learn more about items on the SEL-PQA that will help you increase your CAT scores. The training takes place January 26, from 11a.m.- 1 p.m.
