NOMINATION DEADLINE - 5/1 !!
Nominations Needed!
Each year our BHS PTSA recognizes two individuals for making outstanding efforts on behalf of our students. The Golden Acorn Award is presented to a school or community volunteer in recognition of their dedication and service to children and youth. The Outstanding Educator Award recognizes individuals who make significant contributions that enhance the education of children.
We need to hear from you! Do you know a school volunteer or teacher who has had a significant impact on your student during the past school year? If so, please send an email to mzhou12@yahoo.com to nominate this person for the Golden Acorn (outstanding volunteer) or Outstanding Educator (super teacher) Award. Include their name and what they’ve done to make an impact on your student or why you think they deserve to be recognized. The nomination period will be open until the end of April. Award winners will be recognized at our final General Membership meeting in early June.

Time log forms should be detailed and with signed signatures from volunteer coordinators.
A MAXIMUM of 25 hours of volunteer service completed WITHIN Bellevue High School organizations will be accepted for WG.

APRIL EARTHBOUND FUNDRAISER
The Earthbound Club has launched a plastic recycling fundraiser to celebrate earth month!

Ask for every student: Bring clean plastic film to school by April 28th and Ridwell will recycle it to prevent unrecyclable plastic from ending up in a landfill! (a collection box is at the office front entrance)
  • Link to what types of plastic film that Ridwell accepts

And ask for every family: Sign up for Ridwell to have non-recyclable plastic film, batteries, light bulbs, and other items picked up from your home weekly or as often as you need. For every new subscription, Ridwell will donate $25 to help BHS create a new student run garden.
Anyone who signs up between now and May 15th via this link or the below QR code will be counted for the fundraiser!
What happens to the stuff Ridwell collects? Check out their transparency page for details, including a highlight about Trex which makes decking from the recycled plastic.

For questions, please contact: Sarah Little (s-littlesa@bsd405.org) or Sue Yu (s-yus@bsd405.org).
