Picturing Paris between the Wars

A free online talk by Linda Benedict-Jones

Wednesday, December 8,2021 6:00 p.m.

Artistic activity was alive and well in Paris in the period between World Wars 1 and 2. In this talk we will look at photographs made by distinguished photographers André Kertesz, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Brassaï, all of whom captured memorable images of the city. With Brassaï, we will focus on night-time scenes, many of which have become emblematic of the City of Light.

Linda Benedict-Jones was curator of photography at Carnegie Museum of Art, prior to which she directed Silver Eye Center for Photography and served as curator of education at The Frick, all in Pittsburgh. Before moving to Pennsylvania, Benedict-Jones was curator of the Polaroid Collection in Cambridge, Massachusetts where she earned a Master of Science in Visual Studies degree at MIT in 1982.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining"!
