Ancient Fossils and the Search for Life on Mars: Members Exclusive Virtual Lecture | February 10
Join our Curator of Earth and Space Sciences to learn all about how hunting ancient fossils can inform our search for life elsewhere in the Universe, including life on Mars. The virtual lecture is for members only and begins at 7:30pm
Darwin's Birthday | February 12
Celebrate Darwin’s 213th birthday with us! We’ll honor the discoveries and life of Charles Darwin through the exploration of science and life on Earth. There will be hands-on activities, a special presentation from the Institute’s Curator of Earth and Space Sciences, Dr. Andrew Gangidine, and our rare, first-edition, On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, will be on display.

Special activities are FREE with the purchase of general museum admission and will be running from 11:00am - 3:00pm.
Membership Swap with Cranbrook Art Museum | February 12 & 13
Are you interested in visiting Cranbrook Art Museum? Well, you’re in luck! If you are a member at Cranbrook Institute of Science, on February 12th and 13th, you will be able to enjoy the Cranbrook Art Museum for FREE. You can enjoy current exhibitions at the museum, and they will be hosting its Hearts for Art Week, which kicks off Feb. 12. Members will also be able to enjoy Drop-In Design: Allie Mcghee, and experience the Art Lab with self-guided artmaking activities. Cranbrook Institute of Science members can register online and should use the “Art Members – free” box when signing up.
We're Open Presidents Day | February 21
Get out of the cold and explore dinosaurs, meteorites, space, minerals, and more with us. In addition to our permanent exhibits, we’ll have planetarium shows running throughout the day, and if you haven’t already, be sure to check out our newest exhibit, SPACE: A Journey to Our Future, presented by PNC Bank with support from GM.

Tickets to SPACE and the planetarium can be purchased at the front desk upon arrival. The museum will be open from 10:00am - 5:00pm.
