Dear High School Parents,

At the end of the school year, we will be returning to our pre-COVID practice of collecting all student laptops. Laptops for students in grades 9-11 will be inspected for damage, wiped, re-imaged during the summer, and reissued to students at the start of the school year, once the applicable technology co-pay has been satisfied.

For students in grades 9-11, we will collect only the laptop. Students will need to store their school-issued charging cable in a safe place over the summer.

For seniors, we will collect the laptop and the school-issued charging cable. Please note: failure to return the correct charging cable will result in a charge of $60. Students who forget their charging cable will be assessed a fine on collection day, but the fine may be removed if the student returns the item(s) before the deadline.

Laptops will be collected from May 21 (seniors only) and into the following week, May 24 - May 28 (all grades). A Sign-Up Genius will be posted to the Schoology ‘Class of’ Groups where students - this includes distance learners - need to select a time of their choice to return their laptop.

Any laptop found to have damage beyond normal wear and tear will result in a fine of $75, and students will be notified of this at the time of collection. If damage is discovered after collection, you will receive an email notifying you of the damage and applicable fines.

If you have any questions about the high school collection process, please reach out to Nic Cox (ncox@lncharter.org) or Jamie Lord (jlord@lncharter.org). Thank you for your ongoing support of our 1:World Technology program. More than ever, this past year has shown the importance of teaching students how to use technology safely and effectively to support their learning.
