11 - EPS Community Vaccination Clinic for ages 5+

24-26 No School - Thanksgiving break

EPS ELEMENTARY STUDENT COVID VACCINATION CLINIC


TOMORROW (Thursday) 4:30-7:00pm - EPS Elementary Student COVID Clinic

  • This is a free, walk-in vaccination clinic. No registration is necessary.
  • Clinic is at South View Middle School – Enter Door 2 (parking lot off of Concord Ave)
  • A paper copy of this vaccination consent form, signed by a parent or guardian, must be presented. Hard copies of the consent forms will also be available onsite for a parent or guardian to sign.
  • A responsible adult must accompany elementary students to the clinic.
  • Non-EPS students are welcome to attend.

The Intern Committee would like to say THANK YOU to the families who donated food or their kitchen expertise to making the 2021 Intern Thanksgiving a success! A great time was had by all!

LUNCHTIME VOLUNTEERS NEEDED


We need volunteers EVERY DAY to supervise home lunch (warmer days outside and colder days inside). Please sign up HERE if you are able to help. Volunteers are what allows us to offer a separate space for home lunch students.

THANKSGIVING MEAL BASKETS

If you are interested in receiving a donated Thanksgiving Food Basket from the Edina Rotary, please contact the Edina Resource Center.


Requests for baskets are being taken until 4:00 PM Thursday, November 11th


If the number of requests exceeds the number of baskets available, a lottery will be held. You will be notified by email.


Basket includes: cooked turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, canned veggies, pumpkin pie, loaf of bread, and a bag of oranges.(No meal substitutes) Plus hats and mittens for the kids.


To sign-up, provide: name, address, email, phone number, ages of child(ren) and school(s) attending.

Someone must be available to receive the basket delivery at the address you give us between 12:00pm-3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24th

Si la cantidad de solicitudes excede la cantidad de canastas disponibles, se realizará una lotería.


Las Canastas Incluyen: Pavo cocido, puré de papas, relleno, y gravy, batatas, salsa de arándano, vegetales enlatados, pan, naranjas y gorros/guantes para los niños.


Debe proporcionar: nombre, dirección, número de teléfono, edades del(los) niño(s) y escuela(s) a las que asisten.

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS - GET READY TO JOIN IN THE FUN!


Thank you to those families who have signed up to host a Community Connections event during the 2021-22 school year!


This year, Community Connections will be available for purchase on our Membership Toolkit platform. Watch your email on Monday, November 15 for our event catalog and more information on how and when to purchase event tickets!


Community Connections are events of all sizes for students, parents, or families hosted by Normandale, Valley View Middle School, and Edina High School families in the French Immersion Community. Community Connections are designed to bring together our community while raising funds to benefit our fantastic Edina French Intern Program.

MEET THE INTERN

GAELLE PENGRECH - FIRST GRADE


About me...: My name is Gaelle and I am 23 years old. I have a 25 years old brother named Brice and a 16 years old brother named Yoann. With my brother and my parents Isabelle and Claude, we are a very close family. I also have a little 2 year old cat named Brizhenn. I live in a charming little town in Lorraine surrounded by mountains, which is called Gerardmer. I'm a rather sporty person, I did 8 years of athletics, then handball and soccer that I practice in club since 6 years. I also surf, snowboard and do triathlon. I like literature, cinema and visiting museums. I also like to travel and discover new cultures, new ways of life and beautiful landscapes.



In The US...: I would like to discover new landscapes, American culture with Halloween, Thanksgivings..., new practices and thanks to this internship, discover a different educational system. I would also like to improve my English and spend time with my host family. I would also like to go to basketball, soccer and field hockey games. If I have the opportunity I would like to travel to the United States, to San Francisco, New York, Boston....

My favorite food…:   I like every kind of food but my favorite food is definitely my mother's lasagna. I also very like my father's crepes. It's delicious. I like fish, the pastries, bread, pizza, cheese. And I like discover the food of the country I am in.


I am excited about…: I am excited to meet new people and all the interns, to discover new landscapes and to share moments with my host family.I am also very excited to go to the school and meet the students and find out how the class works.

Cake-Off is back! Join us in person (or via Zoom) on Friday, November 19th 10:00 AM at Church of St. Patrick. Enjoy coffee, time with fellow community members and of course, cake! The program begins at 10:30 and will highlight Ed Fund’s work with EPS in STEAM, Literacy & Mental Health, remarks from Superintendent Dr. Stanley and a live auction to finish the event.
