Happy Friday!

As you may be aware of, COVID-19 cases are on the rise in Region 8 – which includes Kane County. Although the region will remain in Phase 4 of the Restore IL plan, Governor Pritzker implemented Tier 1 mitigations efforts effective Friday, October 23rd, which may be found here. Fitness offerings will remain the same, but attendance at indoor events will be a maximum of 25.

Jameson’s is impacted by the mitigation efforts and have modified their schedule to include Carry Out and Curbside Pickup until restrictions are lifted. The full menu will be available!!

Hours will be:
  • Monday Closed
  • Tuesday - Saturday lunch menu available 12:00-3:00 pm - Dinner menu available 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
  • Sunday dinner menu all day 12:00 - 7:00

Unfortunately, the weekend breakfast menu will not be offered until the dining room reopens. Pre-orders are accepted and encouraged!!!

Due to current social restrictions related to the COVID 19 virus, the Board of Directors of the Sun City Community Association of Huntley, Inc. meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 28th, at 9:00am will be held virtually via Zoom. The agenda is posted on www.sccah.com.

As provided for in the Common Interest Community Association Act, members will be able to comment during the beginning portion of the meeting via email. Comments will be read aloud during the Member Comment period of the agenda and will be a part of the broadcast via YouTube. Please send comments to sccahwebsite@gmail.com beginning Tuesday, October 27th – Wednesday, October 28 at 8:30 am. Twenty (20) minutes is set aside at each Board meeting for a Member Comment period.

Residents will be able to view the meeting “live” over YouTube. A link to the live broadcast will be added to the top of the Association News section (landing page of the private side of the website) approximately 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the meeting. Be sure to have the computer or phone speaker or headphone/earbuds volume turned up. The meeting will not be rebroadcasted after it concludes.

Voting Information
Kane County Residents
For those who prefer to cast their ballot in person, early voting for Kane County residents will be available from October 26-29 in the Drendel ballroom, 10am-4:30pm. Most residents of Kane County can vote
in-person on election day in Drendel Ballroom. Management has confirmed with the county election bureau that their staff will provide social distancing and sanitization at all polling places.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. When breast cancer is found and treated early, the five-year survival rate is 98%. For more information, you can visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.

Understand the Risk Factors:
  • Being a woman.
  • Being older than 50- the risk of breast cancer increases with age.
  • Having a personal and/or family history of breast cancer.
  • Having dense breasts.
  • Genetic mutation of the genes BRCA 1 & 2.
  • Taking hormone replacement therapy for more than five years.
Know the Symptoms of Breast Cancer:
  • Change in skin color and/or texture such as redness, rash or orange peel appearance.
  • Changes in size or shape of breast including swelling, dimpling or puckering.
  • Change in the appearance of nipple including nipple that is turning inward that normally has pointed outward or is scaly or cracked.
  • Spontaneous nipple discharge.
  • Lump or thickening in or near breast in or in the underarm area.
