Worship with us!
Join us for a pre-recorded worship service this Sunday at 10am (or anytime after that) on YouTube as we begin our Advent Journey to Christmas. Advent means ‘coming’ and is the four Sundays prior to Christmas. We will light the first candle in our Advent Wreath – the candle of Hope. There is so much noise right now in our culture and in the season of Advent so we will be very intentional about how we listen these days. Join us as we attune ourselves to our Still Speaking God! Angels will lead us into the season with their messages for us, Mary, Joseph, the Shepherds and Wise Ones.

Grab (another) cup of coffee or Christmas cookie and join us for Adult Education Speaker Series with our own Florence Simonson -- details below.
All our worship service videos in one place!

Our own Florence Simonson shares her appreciation for Mary, the mother of Jesus -- including how Protestants might connect with her and how we might all be encouraged and inspired by her in our current context in the United States.

Scouting for Food – the annual food drive that occurs in November when young scouts tie a bag around your front door one Saturday and then come to pick up your generous donations of non-perishable food items the following Saturday has been canceled this year. One way they are keeping their commitment to hungry people in our area is by encouraging you to send a financial contribution instead. Their promotional materials say that $1 = 4 meals. Please consider texting ‘scoutfood’ to 91999 today.

Inspiration

In Good Time... Abimbola T. Alabi
Life can seem an endless maze,
The twists and turns, lulls and delays,
But things always fall into place...
In good time.
Friends will sometimes go away.
Some may disappoint or others betray,
But new ones will come to stay...
In good time.
The hurt of getting something wrong,
And the lesson it often brings along
Are there, you see, to make you strong...
In good time.
Kindness freely given away,
Unnoticed now, will somehow find its way
Back to you and come to stay...
In good time.
Efforts seem not to pay to plan?
Forge on friend, doing the best you can.
Fortune will find the deserving man...
In good time.
Life can be tough, there's no doubt,
But hope is the thing we can't do without.
Right things with joy will come about...
In good time.
Alzheimer’s Walk Recap
The results of the St. Louis Walk to End Alzheimer’s have been tabulated. The St. Louis Walk was the 4th largest in the country. In this year of COVID and the walk in neighborhoods, Parkway’s contribution was $1,670.00. Thank you, Parkway. Donations are still accepted on the website: http://act.alz.org/site/TR?team_id=619694&pg=team&fr_id=13574 or by checks made payable to: Alzheimer’s Association. Send them to me so I can submit them with a donation form to be credited to the PUCC team. They must be received by Dec. 31, 2020. Thanks to all who donated, walked in our small group of 6, and supported the Walk To End Alzheimer’s.
