Family and Friends Conversation Starters:

Do you sing out loud and strong? Are you self-conscious about showing your praise like this?
Have you ever heard of someone's faith? What do you think that means?
As a Christian, which do you think matters most--the words that you speak, or the things that you do?

Planning a meeting or event?

When planning a committee meeting at Grace, please check the date and time with Ann in the office to avoid conflicts and to get placed on the calendar. Don't forget to send a reminder to your group, so that no one misses a meeting. We are all getting back into the swing of having things on our calendars!

Reminder: All groups and gatherings are limited to the Fellowship Hall at this time. This room allows for safe distancing and provides good ventilation. This area is also part of the cleaning routine of our custodian. Everyone attending any activities indoors at Grace, must wear a mask at all times. This ensures the safety of everyone that enters our church(vaccinated or not).

Walking With Grace

There is a group walking together each Tuesday evening at 5:30 pm. We meet in the parking lot at Grace, and then hit the trail. All ages and abilities are welcome. Please join us!

Confirmation Sunday

Save the date! May 23rd is confirmation day. We will celebrate during our 9am service. Weather permitting, we will share some treats outside after worship.
Please plan to attend, to pray over and welcome these young church members.

Let's Stay Connected!

Have you changed your phone number or no longer use your landline? Has your mailing address changed? Have you returned from warmer climates? If so, please let the office know so that we can update our database.

May Missions--Annual Conference Love Offering

Each year, churches in the Minnesota Annual Conference take a Love Offering for missions in conjunction with our Annual Conference Session.
The theme of the 2021 Annual Conference—taking place June 22-24—is “Jesus. Waymaker.” The Love Offering provides the opportunity to experience the joy of doing way-making work with Jesus—feeding the hungry, reaching out to the migrant, and providing ongoing opportunities to touch lives with God’s compassion and grace.
Bishop David Bard invites congregations to pray about and participate in the Love Offering as a generous expression of God’s wild and extravagant love.
Our Love Offering this year is dedicated to feeding the hungry and ministering to migrants. The funds from this year’s offering will to go to: The Methodist Border Friendship Commission (50 percent), host churches of Ruby’s Pantry (20 percent), the Matthew 25 food distribution (20 percent), and Volunteers in Mission scholarships (10 percent).

We are hoping to hold the Annual Rummage Sale this year, but the date has not been determined. We are working to re-organize the garage currently, so we would appreciate it if nothing got dropped off at this time, without consulting the office first. Thank you!

We Need Ushers
As we head into summer, we know that calendars fill up. It would be great to have a larger pool of ushers to pull from, to ensure that we have ushers each Sunday!
Two people are needed to greet and usher each Sunday. Please call Larry @ (218) 963-3765 or lpjohn@charter.net. Thank you!
Lutheran Church of the Cross is coordinating donations for Operation Sandwich for the upcoming summer season. There is a box in our narthex, if you would like to help. They are collecting donations of peanut butter, jelly, granola bars and fruit snacks, until May 31st. We realize that our church was extremely generous with the March Food Drive challenge, but the need still remains.
Memorial Service

A service for David Almich will be held on Saturday, May 22nd, at Cascade UMC in Deerwood.
There will be a time of visitation from 11-12, and the service will begin at 12.
Please allow for extra travel time if you go, due to nearby road construction.

Welcome to Camp Minnesota!

Grace Kids, Teens and Families

It's time to think about registering for a summer camp experience. Camp Minnesota information can be found by clicking the link below. Check out all the amazing opportunities that the camp staff are planning for a safe camp experience.
Every year the Grace United Methodist Women (UMW) offer a scholarship to Grace children, youth and families who register to attend a Minnesota United Methodist Camp. The scholarship is named for Marnie Luce, mother of John Luce, who was a huge supporter of the camp experience.
Copies of the scholarship fund policy are available in the Grace office. Some of the guidelines are:
 * Scholarships are awarded on a first come basis in the amount of $50 per person.
 * Online applications for the scholarships are due to the UMW treasurer, Le Sears sears.litta@gmail.com by June 1, 2021.
*A copy of the camp registration along with a copy of the $100 deposit is requested. Upon receipt, the dollar amount of the scholarship(s) will be made to you.

Our Bishop has turned the dial to Yellow.
Following these guidelines, we will continue to wear masks and maintain distance between households or friend groups for seating.
We returned to in-person worship on January 31, and continue to adapt as things progress.
