Avon High School Principal Matt Shockley and Assistant Principal Matt Hines were both nominated for the prestigious Indiana Association of School Principals award.
Mr. Hines was awarded the District 8 High School Assistant Principal of the Year Award. According to Principal Shockley, Mr. Hines "is a man of ideas and action with a laser focus on creating a school culture that inspires students and staff to be the best they can be." Congratulations to Mr. Hines for the nomination!
After receiving the District 8 award for High School Principal of the Year, Mr. Shockley was awarded the State High School Principal of the Year Award. Having already won this award during his time at Center Grove High School, Mr. Shockley becomes the first principal in the state of Indiana to win twice. Dr. Wyndham calls Mr. Shockley "charismatic, forward thinking, and and extraordinary leader committed to making a difference in the lives of students." Congratulations, Mr. Shockley!
