Flu Clinic Postponed Again
Wellspring Lutheran Services still has not received the flu vaccine from their supplier. They will call us to reschedule (again) the flu clinic on a Sunday in November. If you would like to get a flu shot before then, feel free to visit your physician or a pharmacy. Wellspring appreciates your patience and understanding!
Pastor Appreciation Month
From the St. Paul Elders: October is Pastor appreciation month. And we certainly appreciate Pastor Matyas and praise God for the way he has led and served us in this incredibly challenging year. We also thank God for the work of David Schultz, our Director of Family Life Ministries, who works mostly behind the scenes and is incredibly valuable in the work of the pastoral ministry being done at St. Paul. Please pray for them and thank them when you see them. As always, the best way to show your appreciation is by being involved in worship and Bible study and inviting others to do the same. And maybe even laugh at their jokes once in a while. Praise God for the ways we are blessed here at St. Paul.
Food of Faith Volunteers Needed!
Thursday, Nov. 5th - at Messiah Lutheran (Thomas and Henry Sts.) St. Paul has one last Food of Faith Assignment for this year. During the Pandemic, they are distributing the food via drive-thru takeout/pickup, so it only takes 2-3 people until about 5:30pm to get the job done. If you would like to do this easy thing for your community, contact David Schultz.
ALSO NEEDED - St. Paul Food of Faith Program Contact Coordinator - If you are an organized person and a good communicator, consider this easy ministry to help your community. This job is, in large part, communicating between the Food of Faith program leaders and the (usually only four) teams from St. Paul, assisting with scheduling and information. Call David Schultz if you would be interested in helping.
Ladies Aid Bake Sale
Don’t forget to pre-order your Christmas treats! The St. Paul Ladies Aid bake sale has been canceled this year but we will still be selling eisenkuechle and fresh homemade donuts. Vouchers for these items will be sold after both church services starting Oct. 18th. One dozen eisenkuechle for $7.00 and 1/2 dozen donuts for $4.00. We will accept cash, check, or Venmo. We will have a drive thru set up on Saturday Dec. 5 from 9-11a for you to pick up your goodies by presenting your pre-purchased vouchers. There will be a limited supply of vouchers sold. Get yours soon! Thank you in advance for supporting our St. Paul Ladies Aid.
If you are currently not attending church, we will be happy to make special arrangements with you to be able to purchase vouchers.

Roll Call Postponed for 2020!
The Roll Call Service and Banquet for 2020 has been postponed. The current plan is to combine the 2020 and 2021 groups next year at the normal time. On top of health concerns (Banquet attenders are often elderly and more susceptible to Covid-19), and school building use policies, we thought being able to use the new facilities in the Ministry Center would be a great way to celebrate these anniversaries and enjoy the new building. After toying with moving it to January/February (already 2021 calendar year), it was decided to combine 2020 and 2021 groups in October of next year. This announcement is intended to serve as a general notice, but a letter will go out to the normal participants for this year celebrating every-10-year observances to let them know specifically about the postponement.
Please Help!
Our Video Display Team desires to add more members to help build playlists and/or operate screens for our worship services. Training is available. We would like to have enough members so that each member serves for one Sunday per month. Anyone interested should call Don Krueger (895-5737).
Please Continue to Help Show Love to Our Construction Crew
Please help by donating bottled drinks and individual bags of salty snacks and nuts or by providing cash or gift cards (Shell gas cards can help us buy ice!). Donations can be left in the back of church, and there is a donation box for monetary gifts. Contact Matt 415-4068 or Heidi 450-0975 with any questions. Thank you!
Stewardship - A Way of Life
John 8:36 - “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” Today we celebrate Reformation Day! Luther is rightly remembered as a champion of the Gospel, but he also called himself “the apostle of good works.” For only in being set free by the Gospel can we do good works. Jesus has set us free, and His blood covers over our sins. We stand before God as His beloved children, and we are invited to live our lives to His glory for the good of His kingdom. STEWARDSHIP – A way of life
