October, 2020 | Issue 10
Message from your Chapter President, Scott Tibbo
Hello All, happy October as we all push through the last Quarter of this unprecedented year – 2020! I want to start out expressing my sincere thanks to the dedicated team of volunteers who sit on the board and committees of this great chapter of ours here in CT/Westchester.

There is so much that goes on behind the scenes, even during a time where all of our programming and communications are “virtual”. From our Program committee who have organized and led a strong array of virtual panel discussions and other learning/networking events throughout the year, non-stop, to those who lead our Membership and Sponsorship efforts, to chapter administration and finance/treasury to those hosting our Real Advantage end-user and other special events, and to those focused on Young Leaders and mentoring of our next generation.

I hope as members and sponsors you also appreciate this team’s dedication to seeing our CoreNet Chapter grow and continually improve despite the challenges the current pandemic may throw our way. Thank you all.

With that said, I will also note that a few of our members who have been in board positions for many years have either retired, relocated or need to transition off the board this Fall. As such, we have just sent out a “Call for Nominations” ballot via email where we welcome nominations for others to join our board.  We do have a number of very relevant and impressive candidates already identified but we are also very interested in additional nominations particularly from those who can help bring more diversity to our board. Please do all review the Call for Nominations email sent this week and carefully think about who you can nominate – and that person can be you!  The deadline for nominations is October 30th.

Please all make sure to check out our NEW WEBSITE for the Chapter thanks to Shelby McInvale and the ACG team. We look forward to upcoming events such as the Virtual Women’s Networking Event this Thu Oct 22nd at 4pm; and Part Two of our “Insights from our Sponsors Covid and Beyond series on Oct 28th at 9am where Sanjiv Awasthi from CIGNA will be our moderator! Both great events, not to be missed.

As we head into the end of this year please ALL be thinking of OTHERS from our CRE/Workplace industry who you can personally invite to learn more about CoreNet and our local CT Westchester Chapter so they can consider joining and also benefit from the community and friendships we all enjoy being part of this great Chapter.

Be well. Stay Safe. Stay Connected.

Scott

How Google's 'Hybrid' Work Model Could Work For Your Business
by David Benjamin and David Komlos, Forbes
According to CNBC, “Google is rethinking its long-term work options for employees, as most of them say they don’t want to come back to the office full-time.” According to a recent survey of Google employees, “sixty-two percent want to return to their offices at some point, but not every day”. For this reason, the company is working on “hybrid” models for future work.

If you’re pondering the same in your organization, don’t be binary in your definition of hybrid.
