UM Team COACH Live Virtual Training: Building the Road to Family Engagement * |

When families participate actively in parenting programs, they are able to realize the full benefits of services. Yet, families face many barriers to engagement. During this virtual training, you’ll be able to identify at least three tools/strategies to support these families and improve caregiver engagement and retention in your program. This training is appropriate for direct service providers and supervisors of parenting programs. The training takes place Wednesday, May 19, 1-2:30 p.m. via Zoom.

Those who register to host or attend a www.READySetGoMiami.com workshop in the month of May, will receive an additional goody bag at one of the drive through events. Those who participate in the drive-through must remain in their cars and wear masks at all times. New In-Person SPARK Training for Youth Development K-5 Providers |

The Children's Trust is sponsoring SPARK (Sports, Play, and Active Recreation for Kids) training that will be provided in-person on Saturday, May, 15. This training is for contracted Youth Development K-5 providers using SPARK curriculum for fitness. Please limit registrations to two staff per agency per training. Pre-registration is required. Facial coverings/masks are required.

Are You Ready for Summer? Help with Camp is Available for Youth with Disabilities |
|
Summer is a time for fun and vacation, but it can also be challenging to find the right summer camp – especially for children with disabilities. With many children attending school virtually since last March, summer camp presents a wonderful opportunity for many to ease back into a routine and get ready to return to school this Fall.
Thanks to a generous allocation from The Children’s Trust, funding is available to provide supports that create meaningful, safe, and inclusive opportunities at Trust-funded summer camps. This is a highly Individualized process taking into account the needs of each child or youth.
Eligible children and young adults have a diagnosed condition, and need significant support in areas that include:
- Activities of daily living (eating, dressing, using the rest room);
- Communication;
- Mobility;
- Managing health conditions or taking medication; and/or
- Behaviors that interfere with program participation.

Nurturing Parenting Training * |
The three-day training will focus on understanding the philosophy of nurturing parenting, assessing high risk parenting beliefs and environments, creating competency- based parenting lessons and programs tailored to meet the individual parenting needs of families. The training takes place online on May 24-26 and costs $300 per participant. |

Pérez CreARTE Grants Program Offering $1.5 Million for the Arts |
The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation's CreARTE Grant Program is now open for applications until May 28. The Foundation will invest over $1.5 million in Miami-Dade organizations working to cultivate an equitable arts community by expanding residents’ access to the arts and making our city a global hub for artistic excellence.
Through CreARTE, the Foundation will award grants in three main areas of focus:

The Triple P Parenting Program is for parents with children who have mild to moderate behavioral issues and are under the age of 12 years old. The Program consists of 10 free, 1 hour, parenting sessions with a Triple P Parent Educator from FOF. Parents will learn and practice the skills necessary to tackle behavioral challenges with various strategies implemented from the evidence based Triple P curriculum.
