Volume 125
January, 2021

AYAM Mission Statement:  To provide opportunities for SBISD students and the Houston community to experience the art of diverse cultures, to understand the cultural and historical significance of art, and to develop critical thinking and viewing skills.
2021 Penny Drive
money_piggybank_money.jpgIn times of COVID, many of us are experiencing financial difficulties.

The Altharetta Yeargin Art Museum is no exception. We have been unable to open and are running extremely low on funds.

We will be running a Pennies for Pictures campaign from January 4- March 12.
Please save all of your spare change. In March, email us and we can make arrangements for change to be picked up or dropped off.

Any amount will be appreciated and put to good use!
Artwork Spotlight- Cindy Hickok
January's artwork spotlight is Cindy Hickok.

She is a Houston based artist, who uses thread, needle and a sewing machine as her medium. She uses items from the news, day to day events and famous works of art as her inspiration.

"Art Gallery" is a piece that uses images from a variety of famous artworks.

Can you see which artworks are featured?
