May Dine Out Event:

FamFare Kitchen Meal Pickup

Wednesday, May 3, 4:30-6 p.m.

Take a night off from cooking and support our school at the same time! Place your order for pickup on Wednesday, May 3, and FamFare Kitchen will donate 15% of all sales to the Hale PTA. Choose the hot Grilled Chicken Pitas with Buttery Rice Pilaf meal to eat that night, or stash the frozen Lemon Blueberry French Toast Bake for an easy weekend breakfast down the road. Click here to place your order.

Staff Appreciation Week

Donations requested: May 8-12

Staff Appreciation Week is May 8-12, and we would like to show our wonderful teachers and staff members at Hale how much they mean to us and our children. The PTA will provide lunch on Friday, May 12. We would also like to provide breakfast and coffee on Monday and other treats throughout the week.

Please click here to view the donation sheet and sign up. Contact Jacki Cook ([email protected]) with questions. Thank you for your support!

Art show ... help needed!

Hale art teacher Ms. Barrett is looking for volunteers on Thursday, May 11, and Friday, May 12, to help hang artwork for a student art show during the spring music performances.

She could also use help on Thursday, May 25, and Friday, May 26, for the takedown. Click here to sign up!

The Hale Bike Bus is back!

Thursday mornings

The Bike Bus is back for the spring. Click here for more details including the route map we followed in the fall

Please sign up here so we can communicate updates each Thursday morning. A little drizzle won’t stop us, but we will cancel if it’s not safe to ride.

Caretakers should plan on joining the rides with their biker. Each student rider needs a bike, helmet, and a bike lock. Questions? Email or text Kyle Shelton at [email protected] or 269-547-8993.

... Plus, a bonus ride!

The Hale Wellness Committee will be hosting a special Bike Bus on Friday, May 5 to celebrate Walk & Roll to School Week.

We are inviting riders to meet up near the Minnehaha Bunny, on the south side of the creek just past the intersection of Minnehaha Pkwy. and Portland Ave.

We will have donuts to share and then bike together to Hale along 51st Street, with that portion of the parkway trail currently closed for repair. Let us know if you're coming by texting Kyle: 269-547-8993.

Walk & Roll To School Day

Wednesday, May 3

Students who walk or roll to school on Wednesday, May 3, will earn a sticker and enter a prize drawing for their class from P.E. teacher Ms. Parr! Kids who bus or get dropped off will have a chance to take an extra walk around the building, too. We are looking for volunteers to help with this event from 8:40-9:15 a.m. Contact Kate Vickery at 269-599-5644 or [email protected] if you can help out!

Weekend fun ...

SATURDAY

SUNDAY

The Field PTA is holding a pancake breakfast fundraiser for the cost of the installation of the new playground. It's on Sunday, May 7, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Minnehaha Masonic Lodge (5149 Bloomington Avenue). See the flyer below for more details.

Plant sale pickup + Spring landscape cleanup

Saturday, May 20

All purchases from the Hale-Field Plant Sale will be picked up on Saturday, May 20, from 9 a.m.-11 a.m.

Stick around to help spruce up the school grounds at our annual spring landscape cleanup! Feel free to stop by for a half-hour or stay the whole morning. We'll work from 9 a.m. to noon. Bring your gardening tools (gloves, rakes, shovels, clippers, shears, spare yard waste bags) and your kids. They love to help beautify their environment.

Coffee and donuts will be provided. Please RSVP so we know how many to expect!

Hale & Field Family Picnic

Thursday, May 18 (5-7:30 p.m. at Hale Playground)

The Hale-Field family picnic is fast approaching! If you can lend a hand and spare some time, we need a lot of volunteers to help the event run smoothly. Oh, and if your student(s) have a favorite song to suggest for the playlist for the night, let us know.

Next monthly PTA meeting

Monday, May 8 (7-8:30 p.m.)

Assuming good weather, we will hold our regular May and June PTA meetings outdoors in a member's backyard. For location details, email [email protected].

Welcoming Equity Committee

The Hale-Field Welcoming Equity Committee's last meeting of the school year is Wednesday, May 24 from 6-8 p.m. at Hale Elementary in the Media Center. All are welcome to attend, and new members are welcome to join anytime.
