At Home With Wilton Library
May 5, 2021
Here's to Mothering
Mothering comes in many shapes, colors, sizes, and relationships. Whether it's your mom, grandma, a favorite aunt, teacher, or friend, the women in our lives nurture us in ways both large and small. Thank you to all the women who give us peace, purpose, order, and joy. This week, we've got some special books celebrating mothers, resources for Mental Health Awareness Month, and information for small business owners. Join us for a newcomers Ice Cream Social, book group, poetry programs and so much more. Visit us in-person, at the Drive-Thru, or virtually.
Book Tributes to Mothers
Of course, gifting your mom a book for Mother's Day is always a wise choice, but we also recommend celebrating her by reading books that explore the matriarchs around us. Enjoy these selections that delve into the joy and adventures of motherhood.
Newcomers Ice Cream Social
Saturday, May 8, from 12:30 to 2:30pm
With so many new people coming to town, Wilton Library is throwing its own welcome wagon in the form of the College Creamery truck and an Ice Cream Social in the library parking lot. All new residents and other members of the community are invited to join. Enjoy free individually wrapped ice cream bars, made possible through the generosity of Kim and Mike Healy, while supplies last. The event also commemorates the 125th anniversary of Wilton Library Association that would have taken place last year at this time. New residents will be able to sign up for library cards and tour the building. There will be a drawing for Wilton Library 125th Anniversary puzzles and a Roku Streaming stick for access to Acorn TV, Kanopy and so much more.
Resources for Small Business Owners
Small businesses are the backbone of any community. Thank you to all our hometown businesses that offer outstanding goods and services and provide so much character to Wilton. Check out this offering of resources to help small business owners and those looking to start a business.
