NOMINATIONS NEEDED!
Each year our BHS PTSA recognizes two individuals for making outstanding efforts on behalf of our students. The Golden Acorn Award is presented to a school or community volunteer in recognition of their dedication and service to children and youth. The Outstanding Educator Award recognizes individuals who make significant contributions that enhance the education of children.
We need to hear from you! Do you know a school volunteer or teacher who has had a significant impact on your student during the past school year? If so, please send an email to presidents@bellevuehighptsa.com to nominate this person for the Golden Acorn (outstanding volunteer) or Outstanding Educator (super teacher) Award. Include their name and what they’ve done to make an impact on your student or why you think they deserve to be recognized. Award winners will be recognized at our final General Membership meeting in early June.

CLASS OF 2021
We are planning Senior Hype Week, June 7 - 11!

What is this? An entire week to hype up our seniors with special messages to the students and drawings each day in which ALL seniors will have the opportunity to be selected!

What do we need? Donated items (gift cards, small giveaways, swag, or specialty items). The more items we have, the more opportunities we will have to select more students.

How can you help? We always welcome your donations! But if you LOVE to procure items by reaching out to local businesses or would like to help us plan Hype Week, please connect with us at bellevuehs2021@gmail.com.

For up-to-date information on all senior activities, visit IMPORTANT DATES or follow our Class of 2021 web page.

Graduation Leis Fundraiser ($35)

Each year, the BHS Orchestra Booster Club holds a Graduation Leis fundraiser. Your purchase will help support the BHS orchestra by providing sheet music, instruments, field trips and much more. These strings of golden yellow plumeria have become the must-have accessory for our graduating students' big day, so don't delay placing your order.

Please visit the BHS Orchestra website http://www.bellevueorchestra.org/lei-sales for more info and to order. The deadline to order is Monday June 1.  Pickup of Leis will be the morning of June 25th at T-Mobile Park prior to the Graduation Ceremony.

The Orchestra Booster Club is seeking parents to participate in our monthly meetings currently held via Zoom. In addition, we are searching for an individual to assist with tech (website maintenance, etc) and someone to possibly fill the secretary position. Several parents on our current board have graduating seniors and are completing their term. If interested, please email Michael Linscott at Silvaviator@mac.com

FREE CAMP 4 KIDS - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
We are looking for high schooler camp teachers for this summer! You can give back to the community and receive volunteer hours!

We, Free Camp 4 Kids, are a non-profit organization aiming to help younger kids experience fun and develop passion during this unprecedented time. Free Camp 4 Kids offers all students the ability to partake in engaging classes without agonizing over budgetary weight.

Over spring winter break, we hosted classes such as singing, robotics, culinary, book club, and more. We’ve had a total of 375 students since the past sessions as well as an additional 18 classes. Because of the tremendous achievement and positive feedback, we are planning on continuing this camp during this summer. We’ll be hosting in person classes, such as tennis, soccer, football, and many more. However, we need more teachers in order to do so! We are looking for high schoolers who are passionate about building a community and who might want to share their talent and love in topics such as the ones listed above, or anything else. All the way from ballet, instruments, or even cooking, we are open to anything!  Below is an application for high schoolers interested in participating in the online summer camp. Keep in mind, you can earn volunteer hours for this!

Applications are due on May 12th. Camps will start on June 28th

I trust that we would all be able to cooperate in bringing fun and provide an excellent experience for kids!

Thank you so much for your help,
