Dr. Chala Holland Named Lake Region
Principal of the Year
Dr. Chala Holland has been selected Lake Region High School Principal of the Year by Horace Mann and the Illinois Principals Association (IPA).
“Chala is an agent for change, supporting our high school community in a multitude of ways,” said Lake Forest High School District 115 Superintendent Michael Simeck. “This honor is very well deserved.”
Each year the Horace Mann/IPA High School Principal of the Year Awards program recognizes outstanding high school leaders.
Simeck praised Dr. Holland, who has been principal at Lake Forest High School since 2015, for a list of achievements that includes curricular innovation, significantly increasing student participation in extracurricular activities, and helping students transform goals and ideas into reality.
“During her tenure, Chala has also realigned administrative positions to ensure leadership for newly developed instructional systems,” Simeck said, adding “I would be remiss if I did not add that much of this has taken place as she has also navigated the uncharted waters of leading our high school during a pandemic.”
Dr. Holland now joins other regional winners being considered for statewide honors. State winners will be announced by the end of February.
Congratulation Dr. Holland!

Join Us for the Next FAN Event -
"The Price You Pay for College"
Featuring Ron Lieber and Lauren Rivera, Ph.D.
Tuesday, January 26, 7:00 PM
This FAN program is brought to our community through the generous support of District 67 and the District 67 Spirit of 67 Foundation.
Sending a teenager to a flagship state university for four years of on-campus living costs more than $100,000 in many parts of the United States. Meanwhile, families of freshmen attending scores of selective private colleges will spend triple that―over $300,000. It’s a hard pill to swallow but the cost of college is probably the biggest expense that a family will incur over its lifetime. Add to this the effects of the COVID-19 crisis on incomes, and the stakes are even higher. Please use this link to read more.

Auction Items Wanted
We are busy making plans for our Annual Spring Luncheon. We know that many of you have taken time during this pandemic to create. You have been painting, sewing, woodworking, cooking or crafting. Maybe you’ve created items worth donating to our auction. Maybe you run or have started a small business of your own and would like to contribute a product or service. We know that many of our traditional auction items may be more difficult to come by this year, so we are reaching out in the hopes that our generous community will come through to support LFHS. If you have something to donate please reach out to Liz Olsen at lizolsen@comcast.net or use our Auction Donation Form.

In Table for Two Rendezvous, a couple with a strangely perfect marriage considers altering their circle of life. In You, Me. Me, You. , former classmates experience how much they’ve changed since high school. In delilah., a girl asks her biggest supporter and closest friend to cheer her on one last time.
