Hundreds of students with disabilities competed in Olympic-style competitions during the district’s 52nd annual Special Games today at the stadium at Bolsa Grande High School. The event is organized by the district’s Adapted Physical Education Department. Students with special needs arrived at the stadium and were greeted with roaring cheers and high-fives from high school student leaders. Student leaders from the district’s eight high schools volunteer to run Special Games events, including relays, softball toss, soccer kick, football throw, volleyball, basketball, face painting, and more. Special Games is a wonderful representation of the family-like culture and climate (Goal 2C) in GGUSD schools and all that schools do to support and celebrate ALL students. |
