Our lost and found is overflowing! Clothes, bags, backpacks, water bottles, etc. If your child says s/he lost it, tell them to check the lost and found in the cafeteria before you replace it. Items will be donated during the holidays so take the next few weeks to check out our inventory.
Cell phones are not to be on or in student's possession from 8:00-2:50. Keep them powered down and in the lockers.
Due to COVID restrictions, student lunch deliveries on campus will not be allowed throughout this school year. Students need to bring lunch from home or students may pick up a complimentary breakfast or lunch in the cafeteria. For the latest information please visit our SMUSD site here.
Remember to throw away your food wrappers/containers at snack break and lunch. School is not a restaurant where servers take your plates away. Thank you for doing your part to help keep our campus clean.
Computers may only be used in class at teacher's direction or at the library at lunch. Keep them away from the lunch areas and food.
Parents, the attendance online absence form on the school website is for explaining absences. If your child has a disagreement about an absence on a particular day/period, please reach out to the teacher first. Thank you

PTA President's Message for December
On behalf of the HMS PTA, I hope you all enjoyed a restful, warm, and joyous Thanksgiving break with your loved ones! As the hectic holiday season begins, let’s continue to spread the gratitude and grace that has gotten us through this challenging year. Amidst all the schoolwork, shopping, performances, and errands that tend to overtake us each December, there remains much to be thankful for!
The PTA is so grateful for our amazing volunteers who continue to support our teachers, staff and students with their time and talent. After Hauntington Breakfast wrapped up, our PTA parents have been quietly preparing for our many upcoming events in 2022 - including the HMS Parent Party which is set for February 12, 2022. Don’t forget to save the date!
Also, much gratitude to Elsie Wong and Stephanie Raleigh who led the Teacher and Staff Appreciation team of Diana de los Santos, Sharon Lu Morris, Rosemary Lay, and Carlyn Piccinini. They set up a lovely autumn lunch and celebration right before the Thanksgiving break that was enjoyed by all. It goes without saying that we are all deeply thankful for our wonderful HMS faculty and staff!
Finally, thank you to all our incredible families for your continued support of the HMS PTA and our school. We are grateful to have our children being able to safely learn in-person and surrounded by the caring efforts of a community. We look forward to an even better second half of the year.
