Permit fees on projects including siding, windows, fences, reroofing, decks, AC improvements, furnace replacements, water/sewer repairs and water heaters will be reduced by 50% during the month of June.

The goal is to help residents with the cost of permit fees and still encourage home improvement projects.

Town of Bennett Introduces Hybrid Court Process
The Town of Bennett recently introduced the option to appear virtually for court hearings. This allows court proceedings to be more efficient, flexible and accessible to all.

If you would like to plead guilty or no contest without appearing in person because you live more than 50 miles from Bennett or have medical concerns that would make it difficult to attend, please email a copy of your ID, complete contact information and a copy of (or information regarding) your citation to [email protected] along with a statement requesting to plead guilty or no contest to your case.

After a statement is emailed, the Court Clerk and Judge will review the request. If approved the Court Clerk will email you the Zoom hearing details.

Those who have a trial scheduled must appear in person, trials cannot be attended virtually.

For those individuals appearing virtually, the same decorum requirements are in place as a physical court appearance.

A full list of requirements and more information about alternative options for arraignment hearings is available here or email Court Clerk, Christina Hart, at [email protected].

Bennett Municipal Court hearings are scheduled on the fourth (4th) Wednesday during the months of January – October; and on the third (3rd) Wednesday during the months of November and December. All hearings begin at 6:00 p.m.

Call for Artists!
There are several upcoming opportunities for artists in the Bennett community.

Join the Bennett Arts Council for the third annual I-70 Corridor Art Show & Artisan Market. This dynamic community event is a great opportunity for artist, crafters, and merchants to showcase and sell their amazing works in many categories including mixed media, ceramics, fiber, furniture and leather, glass, jewelry, metal, photography, sculpting, wood, and more. In addition, there will be a mural wall auction to fundraise for a local non-profit, Teens for Change. The event will also include live music and food.

Bennett Days is also just around the corner and you can submit your work to be viewed throughout the day on Saturday, September 10, 2022.

Submission forms for both art shows can be found here.
Think Before You Flush!
Did you know that products claiming to be flushable are not really flushable? These types of products can wreak havoc on waste systems, causing sewage back-ups.

Other things that are not flushable and can cause clogged pipes include grease from melted fat, clothing, paper towels, cat litter, diapers and personal hygiene products. Drano can also be very hard on your pipes.

Please be cautious and conscientious of what you are putting down your drain. When in doubt, throw it out!
