Happy Thanksgiving & Holiday Season
Message from Our Chairman

"As we celebrate this year’s Thanksgiving tomorrow - one that we will surely remember forever - I would like to relay the Board’s and my personal thanks and deep gratitude to so many of our fellow community members for their generous outpouring of support during this difficult time and in the face of unprecedented challenges. KCSC could not do the work we do without your unfailing support and encouragement and we would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!

This has surely been an almost surreal year where normal is abnormal and abnormal has become normal. We cannot travel to see our loved ones, hug our family members, or do most things that we used to do. The only normal thing I saw today was the beaming sunlight that seemed to light up the colorful leaves around my neighborhood. With the news of vaccines, we all can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it cannot come soon enough. However, we still have a few more months to go before we can safely venture out and do the things we love to do.

Our community’s strength, resilience and tremendous support are only matched by the gallant efforts of KCSC’s hard working staff who have dedicated themselves to helping our neighbors in crisis. Each and every one of you has reinforced my belief in KCSC’s mission and vision. When many organizations were shutting down in March, KCSC geared up to raise a record amount of funding from generous community members, businesses, and churches, which allowed us to assist our neighbors with emergency grocery vouchers and rent assistance. When people could not get through to their doctors, KCSC set up a medical hotline to field questions from the anxious callers, some as far away as New York, North Carolina, Texas, and Washington state. We also took actions to deliver groceries to seniors who could not venture out to get their essentials. For all these reasons, I am so proud to be part of this wonderful organization. Together, you and KCSC are not only meeting the challenges of our time but overcoming adversity with dedication and commitment to serve.

Many thanks and I wish you all a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!"
Sincerely,
[Roger S. Pyon/ 이사회장]
