The End of an Era Smiser Scout Center to Close December 31st
Earlier this year, plans were announced to consolidate the Greater Los Angeles Area Council’s administrative headquarters to the LA office. As a result, the Pasadena “Smiser” Scout Center will be closed starting December 31. This decision came after evaluating the best uses for council office spaces earlier in the year as well as the effect of COVID on overall operations.

The closure of the Smiser Scout Center marks the end of an era in San Gabriel Valley Scouting. This beloved space served as the San Gabriel Valley Council Headquarters and has allowed us to serve countless Scouts, Adult Volunteers, and Community Partners for over 25 years. Read More

Update on COVID-19 and its Impact on Program Delivery

Our staff and volunteers have been working toward opening more program opportunities for our Scouts and Scouting. Currently, we are able to operate Day Camp (under LA County Day Camp Protocols) programming events. These events still have to adhere to a variety of protocols that makes it difficult to do many of the activities we were able to offer prior to the pandemic. Read More
