Federal Disaster Financial Assistance Arrangements (DFAA)
In July, Canada announced advance payments of over $870 million to the Government of British Columbia through DFAA to support provincial costs of flood, landslide and storm response and recovery efforts. This is in addition to the $207 million in support for wildfire recovery efforts announced in June. These two announcements are advance payments of the $5 billion commitment to B.C. in support of the four DFAA-eligible disasters in British Columbia in 2020 and 2021.
