Greetings!

Together we are weathering the most significant public health crisis of our time and many in our communities are facing increased challenges as a result. COVID-19 did not create inequities, but it has worsened the chronic challenges people were already facing, like poverty, social isolation, and mental health. As such, it is more important than ever that vulnerable people have access to responsive and effective social supports.

Each year, our United Way hosts a community wide campaign that unites individuals, workplaces and businesses behind the common goal of improving local lives and building community.

Last year, we were heartened by the incredible response. Your support helped fund 56 different services and helped 25,343 people across the region access supports for themselves and their families – this was LOCAL LOVE in action!

This year, our community continues to face complex and growing needs as we confront steadily increasing rates of housing insecurity, social isolation, food insecurity, and mental health challenges. The work of improving local lives and building community is more deeply needed and more challenging than ever before.

We invite you to continue to show your support this year as we work even harder to strengthen the resiliency of our community and ensure vulnerable people have access to critical social services.

Your donation to the United Way Central NB Community Fund stays 100% local - supporting local programming and services to improve local lives. Learn a bit more about how your support has helped others in our region (see below).

Join us again this year in helping to build community and improve local lives. Your support truly does make an incredible impact.

Thank you,
Faith McFarland

For some, getting help is as easy as accessing their insurance and talking to a doctor. For others, financial control and emotional manipulation, stop them in their tracks.

Carrie had been hospitalized for over a month when she sought help, but abuse is an oppressive presence that often goes deeper than bruises on the surface; she discovered that the therapy available to her depended on her partner’s health care and his total cooperation. Life remained the same for months until she caught wind of Liberty Lane's Family Violence Prevention Outreach Program, a program funded by United Way.
