New Lakeway Art Installations
There are some new 'visitors' you will notice driving along Lohmans Crossing Road at the Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden located next to the Justice Complex at 104 Cross Creek. The new deer sculptures are meant to represent the white-tailed deer population that frequents many areas of the community. The deer sculpture 'resident visitors' join the Crape Myrtles and "The Game" art piece at the expanding sculpture garden.

Additionally, you'll notice a new 'happy turtle' sculpture to complement our area wildlife at the Lakeway Activity Center. You'll spot the sculpture in the courtyard of the Lakeway Activity Center. Thank you to Van and Katherine Leigh for their generous donation of both art pieces, and Arts Committee Chair Janet Wright for keeping our many wonderful sculptures and art installations in excellent shape.

Finally, you'll notice something a bit different when driving into the heart of Lakeway. The monument signs located at RM 620 and Lohmans Crossing Rd., and RM 620 and Lakeway Blvd. recently received a fresh, updated look with the current blue City of Lakeway logo against a rusted backdrop. A special thank you to Stokes Sign Company for installing the beautiful new entry signs.
National Night Out Recap
It was a beautiful evening this past Tuesday celebrating National Night Out. More than two dozen neighborhoods held organized group events where our police officers, elected officials and city staff made the rounds visiting with area residents. Officers were able to share some important safety tips on ways to prevent property crime, identity theft and avoid scams. Residents were able to meet many of their neighbors and enjoy some great home-cooked food items throughout the evening.

We want to thank the many Lakeway volunteers for helping with National Night Out this past week. A special thank you goes out to Pearl Jones, Margo Fesas and Sgt. Eric Barto with the Lakeway Police Department for helping organize and coordinate the event.
