Grammy nominated – our 6th consecutive year!

Rising w/ The Crossing
on New Focus Recordings

Another reason to give thanks this week
where something fragile
and persistent
is just beginning
to open.

These words from Paul Fowler's First Pink which sits right at the middle of our compilation album, Rising w/ The Crossing, sum up how that album is a kind of phoenix – a 'rising from the ashes.' It emerged out of our isolation and grief in the pandemic – a time of fragility. First, a series of 72 sunrise emails, each with a live previously unreleased concert recording. Then, an album of twelve of those performances. Then, a nod from NPR as Best Classical Album of December 2020. Followed by a nod from The New York Times as one of the 25 Best Classical Tracks of 2020. And, now:

We are so happy and grateful! Because, Grammy nominations invite people to listen to our stories, our singing, our composers.

Congratulations to everyone who helped make Rising w/ The Crossing; the full list is below. (Special shout-out to Steven Bradshaw, our tenor, and Nyahzul Blanco who made the art for our album; to our crazy-gifted singers who work miracles, and to an anonymous donor, who helps make all our recordings possible!)

And, congratulations to you – the community that listens to our music and responds, because, @ The Crossing, "something is [always] just beginning to open."

Happy Thanksgiving!
