MUSEUM AND VISTOR EXPERIENCE PLANNING SURVEY HELPS SUPPORTERS GUIDE THE CONSERVANCY'S WORK
Full Report Coming in January 2021
This year we took a major step forward toward planning for our future museum and visitors center. Thanks to the participation of over 1,000 Conservancy members, maritime historians, preservationist and others, we successfully completed the 2020 Museum and Visitor Experience Planning Survey.

Among the questions: "If you were asked to choose only one artifact or exhibit for inclusion in the museum what would it be and why?" The most popular answer was - you guessed it, the Steinway Piano (pictured here in a conceptual rendering of the museum). In the coming weeks, we'll be releasing our complete report - please stay tuned!

Thank you to everyone who participated in all four of our 2020 Flagship Auctions. The 2020 Holiday Auction raised more than $5,700 (including $1,500 from this gorgeous remarqued print by Robert Lloyd) to help save the SS United States. Your support this year has helped us raise over $25,000, which has been invaluable in supporting our efforts!

Again, thank you to everyone who donated items for the auction and to all our generous bidders.
THE BIG U CONTINUES TO INSPIRE...

“The historical context in which the ship was conceived, designed and built represents an unprecedented period of American innovation, growth and optimism that changed the world. During these times it is especially important to be reminded of that, as well as the enormous social changes that occurred in the time the ship was in service."
