Hello Mark,

If you're receiving this email for the first time, you have likely applied to live on campus after we began sending this email series. We'd like to welcome you to your Home at UND! To assist with your fall 2022 room selection process in April and your move to campus in August, we will be sending you weekly email updates on Wednesdays! You can find an archive of all volumes at UND.edu/move-in

Before the first round of New Student Room Selection opens on April 19, we'd like to showcase all of your living options for next year. This week, we're showcasing Squires and Walsh-McVey Halls!

Quick Facts

  • Squires and Walsh Halls are located on the east side of the English Coulee, close to the main campus.
  • Suite-Style Housing Option.

Next Steps

  • You will self-select your room assignment from available spaces during the New Student Room Selection process.
  • If you are selected to live in a Living Learning Community, your room assignment will be made for you in the corresponding hall.
  • We'll showcase additional living options over the next few weeks. Be sure to consider all options as some halls will fill faster than others.

If you have any questions, please reach out to our staff.

Walsh-McVey Halls

Walsh to McVey Transition

UND Housing & Residence Life is in the process of updating and building new facilities as part of the Housing Improvement Project. McVey Hall is scheduled to be completed in early to mid-fall 2022 after students complete Welcome Weekend Move-In. The new courtyard and walkway system connecting to Wilkerson Commons will not be completed until spring 2023.

We know that students will be excited for the opportunity to live in McVey Hall, and the University would like students to experience McVey Hall as soon as they are able. With this, students who self-select Walsh Hall during the New Student Room Selection process will transition their room assignment to McVey Hall during the fall 2022 semester and remain in McVey Hall for the spring 2023 semester. Walsh Hall will be closed for the spring 2023 semester.

We are anticipating moves to take place sometime from November through the end of the fall semester and will release a fully outlined moving plan by August 15, 2022.
