Breaking Cycles of Generational Poverty:
One Home at a Time
This February we will be dedicating our 139th Habitat home and we are so grateful for the support of our community. Because of you, we are able to continue helping local families achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.

Each home you help build breaks cycles of generational poverty. Decent and affordable homes foster stability so adults and children can thrive educationally, financially, and as active members of our community. They form a strong foundation upon which families can build a better life and a path to independence as Habitat homeowners learn the ins and outs of owning a home.

Whether you choose a one-time or monthly gift, you're part of the life-changing process that is the Habitat homeownership program. From their acceptance to the 500 hours of sweat equity the family puts in, they can see their own home built from the ground up and forge lasting bonds with the homeowners that will become their neighbors.
Meet our new Volunteer Coordinator, Alex!
We are excited to announce that our new Volunteer Coordinator is Alex Munoz! Please join us in welcoming her into our Habitat family.
Hi Habitat family - my name is Alexandria Munoz, but you can just call me Alex! I’m so excited to be the new Volunteer Coordinator for Habitat’s Tri-County Partners. I recently moved to the Tri-Cities this past August from Kenosha, Wisconsin. While there isn’t as much snow as back home, I’m loving the beautiful mountain views and trails! While not working, I love going out and exploring with my new rescue pup, Simba. I’m also an avid biker and love painting and expanding my creativity!

I’m a recent college graduate from Carthage College, graduating with a degree in Communications and Public Relations. That and my previous work in other non-profits such as NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and Ravinia Music Festival make Habitat and I a great fit! I can’t wait to help spread Habitat’s powerful mission and message, while also being on the sites and getting my hands dirty!

If you want to help and be a volunteer, feel free to reach out. The first step is filling out our Individual Volunteer Application. Without volunteers like you, our success wouldn’t be possible.
