Adult Summer Reading Program...Why should the kids have all the fun!

The Adult Summer Reading Program is going strong yet again this year!  With generous donations from the Friends of the Library and AMC movie Theaters, we are able to run the program for 8 weeks this summer!  All you need to do is fill out a log at the Main Desk with a book you've read or listened to that week, and ask for raffle ticket.  Your ticket will be entered into a weekly drawing for gift cards to area establishments.  It's fun and free!
Methuen's own Great American Read
Submit your votes all summer

This summer PBS has launched a series to track America's favorite novel.  They are asking everyone to vote and we thought what a great idea to see what is Methuen's favorite fiction book is.  We grouped the list into five titles per week.  When you come just vote for your favorite title that week with pennies.  At the end, the first week of October, we'll have a run off with the five highest vote getters over the course of the summer.  All monies raised will go to the Friends of the Nevins Library who help us bring you such dynamic programs.  Stop by the library and vote early and often for  your favorite novel!!

Community Art Project - the Poppy Project

Our Poppy Project is going strong.  We are amazed at how many poppies people have created for us already!  We are making and collecting poppies through the  e nd of October.  The more poppies we have, the bigger the display will be come November - as this Veteran's Day is the 100th Anniversary of the  e
nd of World War I.  Our next drop-in session for the Poppy Project is Thursday, July 12 at 10am, where you can ask questions, make poppies, pick up supplies or drop off poppies.  You can also support this project anytime with a $1 donation, which will dedicate a poppy to a Veteran you name.
