May the peace of Christ be with you.

New safety protocols are in place, which include temperature checks and mask and glove requirements. Volunteers are needed Monday-Thursday from 7:30 am to 4 pm, Friday 10 am to Noon and Saturday from 8:30 am to 2 pm.

NON-SALE
at the home of Lindy Gotts
Several of you have asked how we did on our Non-Sale at Lindy Gotts' house this summer. It took a while to get final totals in since we took books to Half Price Books and took china, silver, pewter and coins to a private auction house after the sale was over. We can now say that everything has been sold or donated and our grand total was $8701.93. We owe a large debt of gratitude to the Gotts children--Steve, Jeff and Katherine--who made the decision to donate all proceeds from the sale to First Presbyterian Church. Needless to say, there were many items left when the sale was over and most of those were donated to Simply Thrifty which is a new thrift shop on West Arapaho. Simply Thrifty uses funds created by the sale of those items to run halfway houses for women who are fighting addiction. They were delighted to get the items that we were able to give them.
Shirley Latham directed the Non Sale with a large amount of help from faithful FPC volunteers. Sarah Wright and Sue Burns gave countless hours to organize and arrange items for the sale. Amy Shirey took old linens and towels to the local animal shelter and Martha Mathieu coordinated many volunteers to take books to Half Price Books. Bill Latham was the official "fix-it" man for the sale. Two of our FPC youth were very helpful--Mai Weeks and Noah Clayton. So, you see it was a combined effort that yielded great results. Again, a large thank you to the Gotts family for their generosity.

CLERK'S CORNER
October 23, 2020
Here are updates from your Session for the last two months. Commendations were issued to Randy Phillips, Bill Foote, Kevin Wadleigh, and Doug Anderson for their work on various projects around the church campus, Ralph Stannard for his video production every week (this is not in his Music Director job description!), Bob Tillinghast (for his years of service to FPC in many capacities as he & Jill move to Austin), and Bob & Sharon Relyea for managing our part of the Network Food Drive each month.
Our treasurers (Sara Godecke & Janice Fandrick) report that our finances are in good shape for 2020.
On the facilities front, there's a new refrigerator and freezer in the kitchen (the old ones had been with us since the 90's, and the fridge conked out). Don Freeman is leading a task force to evaluate bids and make a recommendation to repair crumbling sewer pipes under various places in the buildings-more to come on that project.
Bill & Ollie Frank made a very generous gift to the church in their estate, and their wish was that it be used for construction of a pavilion on the field near the playground. Sylvia Carson's family invited the Sometimers to move plants from Sylvia's yard (just behind the Maupin Field) to the church property. Several lantanas, boxwoods, and spider lily bulbs have been replanted around the building.
Isn't it amazing how this congregation is blessed by so many gifts of time, talents and treasures? Thanks be to God, and keep it going, y'all!
