Start with nearby chapters, Area Exam Boards, Regional Conferences, and the Annual Convention & Technical Institute. Consider setting up your own exam day or weekend. If you bring in examiners, you are allowed to reimburse them for all necessary and reasonable expenses incurred in the performance of their duties as examiners. (Org Policies X.G). Examiner and exam site information can be found in the Member Area of www.ptg.org under RPT Certification. If you have corrections or updates to this information, please send them to kathy@ptg.org.

Exam Extensions
The PTG Board of Directors extended some RPT exam time limits at the Winter Board meeting to allow exam retakes to be taken up to two (2) times within 43 months of the original exam date. In August, the Board also extended recertification deadlines for CTEs and TECs. Recertifications due 2020 through 2024 may be extended until September 1, 2025.

New Leadership Scholarship from PTGF
The Piano Technicians Guild Foundation will offer up to 10 Leadership Scholarships each year from 2020 to 2023 to PTG members who hold office in their local PTG chapters as President, Vice President, Secretary, or Treasurer. The scholarships provide individual recipients with an exam voucher to cover the applicant’s choice of either the PTG Technical Examination or the PTG Tuning Examination. This voucher can be used to pay for either RPT exam at any exam site. This includes the PTG annual convention, regionals, seminars, and local testing sites.
To be considered, an applicant must:
- Have passed the written RPT exam. (Now available online)
- Hold office within their local PTG chapter. (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer)
- Have been prescreened to take either their Tuning or Technical Exam.
