In addition, the Center for Social Justice Research, Teaching and Service will present its annual Teach the Speech workshop on Tuesday, January 19, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. RSVP to attend. This year, Dr. King’s 1965 speech “Our God is Marching On” will feature three mini-keynote addresses and dialogue with the speakers. As the 2021 presidential inauguration approaches, the University is coordinating closely with federal and local authorities on safety planning and strongly recommends that all members of the Georgetown community follow the guidance of federal and local authorities. In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Inauguration Day, the University will be closed on Monday, January 18, and Wednesday, January 20. Additionally, on Tuesday, January 19, in order to minimize the number of members of our community on campus, and with limited, approved exceptions, the University will operate virtually and our physical campuses will be Closed with Instructional Continuity and Essential Services. Vicennials Honored
Each year, academic faculty and staff are honored with Vicennial Medals for their 20 years at the university – gold for full-time service and silver for part-time. The 2020 GUMC Vicennial Medal recipients are:

The new GU360 mobile app simplifies the process for completing the COVID-19 Daily Check-in and receiving your Building Access Badge, which you need to show public health screeners when you enter campus buildings. Beginning on Tuesday, January 19, the COVID-19 Daily Check-in will move from the One Medical app and website to the GU360 app and website. MedStar Health researchers invite you to be a part of a multi-site, CDC-funded COVID-19 Community Research Partnership study, looking to see how the virus has affected the communities it serves. Participation in the study involves answering questions online and, for some volunteers, an in-home blood test for antibodies to COVID-19 to determine if you’ve been sick with the virus in the past.
