I hope that many of you have already exercised your right to vote and cast your ballot as you saw fit. For those who may have, for whatever reason, postponed or been hesitant to vote, I hope you will discover or summon greater resolution and go out tomorrow and let your choices be known.
Polls are open for ACPE’s annual election for the association's board, commissions, and committees. Ballots were emailed via SimplyVoting. Polls close November 4, 2020. If you cannot find your emailed ballot, please contact John Roch or Tiffany Kindred.
We invite all ACPE Certified Educators who are working with Educator Candidates to join us for informal consultations and conversations via Zoom. The drop-in meeting will take place on Mondays 12:00pm - 1:00 pm ET. There will be no Information Certification Consultation on Monday, November 9. Consultation will resume on Monday, November 16.  
Once a month the ACPE Professional Ethics Commission (PEC) posts a couple of statements from our Code of Professional Ethics for ACPE Members.
The purpose of this research is to further investigate what type of SCS score might be typical for a known spiritualty competent clinician and compare that with data collected in previous studies from master’s level counseling students.

In Case You Missed It
The Certification Commission is pleased to share the following updates/clarifications that have recently been added to the Certification Manual. 
ACPE's Tech Team will host a series of talks which include a brief overview of our new platforms and Q&A sessions. The hour-long talks are limited to 10 members to ensure attendees can ask their questions and address their challenges.
The Foundation for ACPE has two funding opportunities. The deadline to submit your applications is November 15, 2020.
The Foundation for ACPE Service Awards Committee invites you to nominate someone for recognition of outstanding contributions or service to ACPE. The deadline to submit a nomination is January 15, 2021.
The ACPE SIP Program offers trainings to help mental health practitioners work more competently with spirituality in the context of psychotherapy. The 30-hour NBCC-approved continuing education curriculum is offered locally in communities across the country.
Webinars include: Liberation Theologies: An Introduction from Black Points of View, Social Location and Intersectionality, The Social Construction of Race, the History of Racism in Healthcare and Whiteness & Anti-Racist Identity.

This Week's Reflection
Many will remember the campaign to restore the Statue of Liberty back in the mid-1980s. This poem builds on the portion of the Emma Lazarus poem at the statue’s feet. It seems an appropriate invitation for reflection the day before the final day of a very long federal election season:

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

Give me your gentrificatees of the Lower East Side including all the well-heeled young Europeans who’ll take apartments without leases
Give me your landlords, give me your cooperators
Give me the guys who sell the food and the computers to the public schools in District One
Give me the IRS-FBI-CIA men who don’t take election day off
Give me the certain members of the school board & give me the district superintendent
Give me all the greedy members of both american & foreign capitalist religious sects
Give me the parents of the punk people
Give me the guy who puts those stickers in the Rice Krispies
Give me the doctor who thinks his time is more valuable than mine and my daughter’s & the time of all the other non-doctors in this world
Give me the mayor, his mansion, and the president & his white house
Give me the cops who laugh and sneer at meetings where they demonstrate the new uses of mace and robots instead of the old murder against people who are being evicted
Give me the landlord’s sleazy lawyers and the deal-making judges in housing court & give me the landlord’s arsonist
Give me the known & unknown big important rich guys who now bank on our quaint neighborhood
Give me, forgive me, the writers who have already or want to write bestsellers in this country
Together we will go to restore Ellis Island, ravaged for years by wind, weather and vandals
I was surprised and saddened when I heard that the Statue of Liberty was in such a serious state of disrepair & I want to help

All Souls’ Day (Christianity)
Commemoration of all faithful Christians who are now dead. In Mexican tradition it is celebrated as Día de los Muertos between October 31 and November 2, and is an occasion to remember dead ancestors and celebrate the continuity of life.

November 3
Mawlid Al-Nabi (Also known as Milad Al-Nabi) (Islamic (Shi’a))
The observance of the birthday of Islam founder Prophet Muhammad, which is celebrated in Rabi' al-awwal, the third month in the Islamic calendar. Sunni Muslims celebrate it five days earlier than Shi’a Muslims.

Feast day Qudrat (Bahá'í)
A three-part gathering held every 19 days, on the first day of each Bahá'í month. The Arabic meaning of Quadrat is power, might, and strength. The Feast always contains three elements: spiritual devotion, administrative consultation, and social fellowship.
