What's Happening in Children's?
Summer's Half Over, but the Programs Aren't!!!
We still have plenty of fun in store for August, including new programs such as “Going on a Bear Hunt” for youngsters; “Galaxy Jars” and “Capture the Flag” for older kids; “Drop-In Art Studio” for ages 5-11; and “Candy Bar Bingo” for all ages!

If you have a new infant, you’ll want to sign up for our “Infant Massage” classes, where parents can learn how to massage, relax, and soothe their infants. And if you have a child entering kindergarten in September, you won’t want to miss our “Kick-Off to Kindergarten” open house, which helps prepare children and their families for starting off in the Methuen Public Schools – meet the superintendent, listen to a story, climb on a school bus, and more!

And of course we have many of our regular programs ongoing throughout the summer, such as “Family Storytime,” “LEGO Block Party,” “Books & Bubbles,” and “On the Move!” to entertain kids of all ages. Last but not least, don’t miss our final “Little Bookworms” program at the Nevins Farm MSPCA on August 5 – a wonderful collaboration where kids up to age 5 listen to stories and meet friendly animals who live at the farm.

Throughout August we’re also still offering snazzy beads and badges to school-age and preschool kids when they participate in Children’s Department summer programs and contests – don’t forget to bring your kids to the department to collect theirs!

Keep an eye on the Children’s Department calendar and Facebook page to learn the latest about upcoming programs and special events – we’d love to have you join us.

Happy August, and Happy Reading
