Next Step in Electronic Voting - The Opt-In Process

We have finalized the contract with Vote-Now.com LLC and are ready to move to the next step.
As required by Florida Statute each homeowner must give permission to have Vote Now send them an electronic ballot. During the month of December each household will receive communication from Vote Now both via USPS and via email using the contact information we have on file.
The email will come from elections@Vote-Now.com and have the subject line JLPOA Electronic Voting Opt-In.

This email will contain a link to the Consent Form and your Opt-In PIN number. You will be asked to complete your contact information and accept the terms in the consent form.

It is helpful if you add elections@Vote-Now.com to your email address book/accepted sender list, so it does not go into your spam folder.
You are also welcome to send an email to that address (you will not receive a reply) but that often helps to “train” your email program to recognize incoming mail from elections@Vote-now.com too.

This Opt-In phase will be available through February 1, 2022. If you do not Opt-In to electronic voting you will receive a paper ballot in the mail.

We encourage everyone to utilize the electronic voting option as it provides security and a cost savings.
New Homeowners Welcome Coffee

New homeowners from 2020 and most of 2021 were invited by the JL POA Welcome Committee to attend a Welcome Coffee on Saturday, November 6th at the Golf Club.

The event had spectacular reviews, with over 70 new neighbors attending. The Committee organized an exhibit area so new homeowners could learn more about what JL has to offer.

Exhibitors included JL organizations such as the Golf Club, Tennis and JL Realty as well as JL activities including the Yacht Club and Women’s Auxiliary, JL Cares, bocce, and remote control boating.

Additionally, numerous and generous door prizes obtained by the Committee from JL organizations and local businesses were raffled throughout the event. Our new neighbors had great things to say about their move to JL.

Update on 4th Quarter Payments

This is a reminder to all owners regarding their 4th quarter POA quarterly fee.

We have had a number of owners call in to the POA office regarding the processing and posting of checks received. Checks are processed at the Sharma & Associates Accounting office within 48 hours of receipt from the lockbox.  We ask that you ensure all of the following steps have been taken to guarantee that the payment has been correctly applied to your account.

• If you mailed a check for your 4th quarter please ensure they are mailed to the correct address:
JLPOA
c/o Valley Bank
PO Box 166306
Miami, Florida   33116

Checks must include your name and unit number on the check in order to be applied correctly.

• If you completed your bill pay through your bank - did you redirect the mailing address to the new account? These are accounts that push the money from your bank to the POA account:

The mailing address is:
JLPOA
c/o Valley Bank
PO Box 166306
Miami, Florida 33116

• On-line Payments - If you made your payment through Clickpay, you can now pay using the new TOPSPAY program.

As this quarter is a 1-time payment, there is a $2.95 charge if you pay for the 4th quarter only. Beginning with your January payment, if you opt in for the whole year, there is no change for using on-line bill pay.

You should have received an email from comweb.com (Sharma & Associates) inviting you to sign up. If you did not, you will need to reach out to Cassi Johnson at Sharma & Associates (954-284-3080) to sign up.  This system allows you to change your email address on line, view your account balance and submit reoccurring payments to your account using your bank or a credit card.

Please take a moment to verify that your payment was applied to your account.

Golf Cart Safety Reminder

The holidays are approaching and many JL residents will have family and friends visiting.
Since a golf cart is a potentially dangerous vehicle, the JLPOA would like to remind its residents of the rules while operating a golf cart within JL.
Every golf cart owner and user must take personal responsibility while operating a golf cart. Driver’s must be at least 14 years of age and golf carts should be driven in a safe and reasonable manner.

Please note that the Golf Club has more restrictive rules for golf cart usage while operating on the golf course. Please refer to the JLGC Rules and Regulations for more information on the Golf Club rules for golf carts.

Also, please remember to stop at all STOP signs when crossing the roads!
JL CARES Happenings....
On November 15th, over 50 community volunteers and JL Cares Board members set up 5 assembly lines in the JL Clubhouse and packaged 10,944 fortified Macaroni and Cheese meals. All these meals were donated to Palm Beach Harvest where they will be distributed to agencies serving families facing food insecurity in Northern Palm Beach County.

Once again, Jonathan’s Landing residents stepped to the plate to serve our community at Thanksgiving. Through your generous donations the JL Cares’ Thanksgiving Basket Program raised over $15,000. These funds went toward providing families of students from the Edna Runner Tutorial Center with Thanksgiving meals, funding Palm Beach Harvest, and the Meals of Hope project.

Each Christmas brings along with it the JL Cares Angel Tree Project. For 2021 JL Cares’ will use the same approach as last year, providing gift cards to purchase gifts for the children at the Edna Runner Tutorial Center and Seniors at the Courtyard Gardens. The Angel Trees are now set up in the Village Clubhouse lobby and donations may be made by check or Member Charge placed in one of the boxes located throughout JL: the Village Clubhouse, Golf Shop and POA office. Donations must be received before Monday December 6. An Angel Tree Reception will be held in the JL Clubhouse Dickinson Room on Monday December 6 at 4:30pm-please join others in the community to enjoy some holiday cheer.

We plan to highlight some of JL cares partner agencies and their specific volunteer opportunities in future issues of the POA newsletter. In the meantime, please contact our Volunteer Coordinators to discuss your interest and skills. Nancy Heichemer - nancyhike@gmail.com or Donna Prybyl - Dprrybyl@gmail.comTo learn more about JL Cares please contact Chair, Teresa Price at tdpricetess@aol.com.
