Presenters Needed
Help us Advance the Knowledge of Masonry!

TMS is seeking excellent presentations for our "2nd Thursday of the month" webinar series this spring and next fall, and for future Night School courses. Presentations should provide at least 1 hour of technical content. Speakers for these webinars are paid $600.

If you would like a presentation considered for any or all of these opportunities, please complete the Presentation Submission Form, noting which venue in the description, and your preferred length (if different than above).

For all these opportunities, the presentations must not be promotional and should be of interest to those wishing to learn more about the design, construction, evaluation, or repair of masonry. A selection committee consider proposals.
Committee Highlight: What We are Doing
Building Performance Committee
The Building Performance Committee (BPC) is one of The Masonry Society's newer Committees. The Committee Chair is John Civitillo of WDP Consulting Engineers and the Vice Chair is Matt Reiter of Cornell University. Formed to broaden the scope of the former Sustainability Committee, the BPC is tasked with identifying and disseminating information and research regarding high performance building design incorporating masonry.  Topics considered range from sustainability, energy performance, and durability to resilience, flood resistance, and fire resistance of masonry construction. The Committee is currently exploring numerous opportunities under the scope of the committee to provide value to the masonry industry through publications, articles, webinars, and more. Task groups are in the process of being formed to develop content for several of the topics most relevant to the existing committee membership.  For additional information on the Committee and its mission and goals, click here, or contact the Chair here. To be considered for membership on the Committee, click here.

Masonry Education Hub/Learning Management Systems Under Development Thanks to Support from the NCMA Foundation and WSCPA
The Masonry Society (TMS) has begun development of a Masonry Education Hub and Learning Management System to allow designers, professors, students, and other users to obtain on-demand masonry education thanks to generous support from the National Concrete Masonry Association Foundation (NCMA Foundation) and Western States Clay Products Association (WSCPA). The Masonry Education Hub will be hosted on the TMS website to provide a central location for excellent and accessible training session on a variety of masonry topics in a number of online formats (YouTube type videos, recorded Webinars, Night School classes, University courses, etc.). It is being created in response to the request to provide users of masonry systems with a central system to learn more about masonry, find resources on masonry, and to track educational hours (AIA Learning Units (LUs), Continuing Education Units (CEUs), and Professional Development Hours (PDH)) they may need for their own credentials (licenses).  For additional information on the initiation of the Masonry Education Hub, click here.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available for organizations wishing to support the Hub by contacting TMS.

Notice on Unsubscribing & Forwarding Messages
Important information regarding TMS emails & Constant Contact.

To forward TMS emails, E-Newsletter, and Announcements that are sent via Constant Contact, use the Forward button at the bottom of the newsletters to ensure that if one of your contacts hits the "Unsubscribe" button at the bottom, that they don't unsubscribe you. The problem with the Forward button though is that it only allows you to Forward to a limited number of email addresses (7). For longer lists, you may have to do this several times. Alternatively, you could Forward the email with a personal note at the top, explaining that if they do not wish to receive the TMS forwarded messages from you, that they contact you directly to be removed from your particular email list.

Please note: Your email address is from a list solely owned and maintained by The Masonry Society (TMS) for our exclusive email purposes. If you are a TMS Member, participate in a TMS Committee, or have requested TMS mailings, your email is essential to your membership, committee participation (including virtual meeting announcements and ballots), delivery of various TMS e-publications, and seminar announcements. Unsubscribing through our email sender, Constant Contact, will block all emails from TMS. If you would like to specify what type of emails you would like to receive from TMS, have questions about our email policy, or would like to subscribe for any of our emails, please contact TMS directly at [email protected].
