Ray-Pec Parent Community,
Thank you for persevering this week with the inclement weather days as we were reminded that winter is still with us. In-person school cancellations are a disruption for all, and I appreciate your understanding about how we had to alter our schedule.
This coming week is National School Counseling Week (Feb. 7-11). In a time when the well-being of our students is more paramount than ever, we are blessed to have resources to help with our students’ successes. Please join me in thanking our school counselors and school-based mental health professionals for their work with your children. Our team also includes school psychologists, family/school liaisons, behavior interventionists, and a student success coordinator to work together on counseling, crisis response, and wraparound support of the family.
February is also Black History Month. Recognizing and honoring the contributions of Black Americans is an important part of who we are as a community and nation. It is also indicative of an education system that is designed to meet the needs of all of our students. I look forward to seeing the many activities and resources our building leadership teams use to engage our students in learning about this important part of the history and culture of our country.
We are blessed to have such an incredible team of teachers and support staff across the district working with our students.
Thank you for entrusting your children to the Ray-Pec School District.
