Our Transition Team...and the Work Ahead
Dear Team DPS,

I want to thank the community members who welcomed me into conversations during my first six months at DPS to provide their valuable feedback and insight on our schools. I want to now provide a quick update on how we’re taking action on these conversations.

You’ll recall that at the end of my Listening and Learning Tour, I formed a Transition Team, made up of parents, community advocates and experts from across the city and the district. Since the beginning of November, the Transition Team has been working to develop recommendations for the district’s priorities and long-term strategic plan, using the feedback we’ve heard and learned from our community.

The Transition Team is split into three subcommittees, guided by distinguished chairs from the greater Denver community:

I invite you to learn more about the important work the Transition Team is doing to develop our priorities in this video in English and Spanish, as well as at superintendent.dpsk12.org.

In collaboration,

Dr. Alex Marrero,
Superintendent

Masks + Vaccinations + Boosters = Our Best Defense against COVID-19
As a reminder, DPS students, staff and family members can get a COVID-19 vaccine or booster at any of our Denver Health School-Based Health Centers. This week, the CDC approved boosters for 16- and 17-year-olds who received the Pfizer vaccine and received their first dose at least six months prior.

Schedule a vaccine or booster appointment online or by calling 303-602-8958. You can also contact your healthcare provider or visit the state of Colorado’s vaccine website to find an appointment that works for you. Help protect your family, friends and neighbors -- get a vaccine or booster today!
