Registration Assistance Available

We will be hosting web meetings to explain how to use the parent portal system and to answer any questions you may have about the registration process. There will be two options of times to best accommodate those in different time zones. Please join us and get your questions answered!

Trading Post Updates

Trading Post Chair Bob Elliott and his staff are excited to have provided great opportunities for you to pre-order all your Normandy Camporee 2022 specific items. Some of these same items will be available for in the Trading Post on-site in case you forgot to pre-order..... but the great part is you can also pick up many other TAC specific items, BSA uniforms, and a range of other items.

Black Eagle Lodge Order of the Arrow items will also be available, including the introduction of new Collector Flaps that were not included in the pre-order opportunities.

Be sure to include a stop at the Trading Post, with hours of operation on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of our camporee weekend.

COVID-19 Update

Each of us will arrive in Normandy to have a great camporee experience. We all come with perspectives about the COVID-19 pandemic, and have developed habits based upon the practices of our everyday environment.

As we enter France and the camporee zone, we have to remember that we are guests, and therefore must comply with the COVID mitigation regulations that will be in place at the time. As conditions change daily, we do know that many of our daily habits are good practices to continue.

Wash your hands frequently
Hand sanitizer can be a great substitute or supplement
Keep your distance - the current 1.5 meter social distancing is great practice
Be outside..... Scouting is about outside activities..... so let's be outside as much as possible.

We recognize that some folks are hesitant to complete their registration for the Normandy Camporee 2022. After all, over the past 2 years we have seen many Scouting events cancelled due to the global pandemic.

The Transatlantic Council has a very clear refund policy related to events that are cancelled by the council. 100% of all registration fees and associated trading post purchases are available for refund should the event be cancelled by the organizers.

If you will be traveling to the camporee by commercial carrier (bus, train, plane, etc.) you should check the carrier's COVID-19 cancellation policy. Many transportation providers provide insurance programs to help minimize the financial risk.

Likewise, if you are lodging off-site (not camping or renting a bungalow through the camporee), be sure to check the COVID-19 cancellation policy related to your rental. Again, most providers have very liberal policies and/or provide insurance programs to help minimize the financial risk.

Lanyards and their importance

Prior to your arrival, each participant should have a completed lanyard insert. Insert "blanks" are available in WORD format on our website.

Upon check-in, a lanyard will be issued for each and every registered participant of the Normandy Camporee 2022. These are to be worn at all times for several key reasons:

They allow for members of our host communities to recognize you as a camporee participants
Museums
Police and security forces
Etc.
It serves as your entrance ticket for our events such as the Information Square, Campfire, Memorial Services, Radio Station, Trading Post, Swapping Events, etc. Those without a lanyard will not be granted access to events.

Be sure to completely fill out your lanyard insert prior to your arrival at the Normandy Camporee.

Grocery Needs while at the Normandy Camporee

You don’t have to travel with all your food to the Normandy Camporee. Cocci Market is near Camping Omaha Beach and will deliver pre-ordered items to the campground (deliveries only on Wednesday and Friday). https://www.coccinelle.fr/Trouver_Un_Magasin/Details/coccimarket/vierville-surmer/rue-des-paves

Super U is near Camping Port’land in Port-en-Bessin-Huppain. Also in the town are several small stores which sell a variety of items. https://www.magasins-u.com/magasin/uexpress-portenbessin

In Bayeux, there are many stores but the largest are the Carrefour and E.Leclerc. These are both excellent for camping and cooking items as well, but quite a distance from our camporee locations.
