TRAC-IT Update
On June 27, 2022, the Commonwealth introduced its new comprehensive statewide early data system — TRAC-IT — to support early intervention practitioners and the families they serve. TRAC-IT has been designed specifically for Virginia’s early intervention system and promises to dramatically enhance the capacity and capabilities of the Infant & Toddler Connection of Virginia.
A number of resources — informational emails, documentation and webinars — have been developed and shared on an ongoing basis. Please explore the website at https://www.itcva.online/trac-it-info often as new materials are being added regularly during this busy time of preparation and rollout.
There is a TRAC-IT Help Desk that is available to you. Please email them at VATRACITsupport@ssg-llc.com or call at (804) 508-7229 if you have questions or need assistance.

The CCSS Conference was a huge success! I was so delighted to co-present with my colleague Telisha Woodfin during the Pre-conference on the topic of integration of Early Intervention and Infant Mental Health. The merging of these two fields is a huge step forward for Virginia. The conference offered an array of sessions full of didactic information, and practical strategies that all practitioners can use in their daily engagements with children and families. As I reviewed my notes, a theme seemed to emerge, self-care for the practitioner. This was a timely topic for all of us due to the dynamics encountered in our work culture during the pandemic era. As leaders in the early intervention field, it is critical that we are mindful of our own well-being (physically, emotionally, mental health), as we strive to meet the needs of all of the children and families throughout the day. We all realize that in order to stay attuned to our children, families, and colleagues we must ensure that we are caring for ourselves to avoid professional burnout, stay well balanced, and maintain attunement with those we serve. Early interventionists and Infant Mental Health professionals are always looking for great resources and training to support growth, and development, to support this effort I am linking in some resources this month to support your health and well-being. Be good to yourself!
