Dear Christ Church Parishioners,

The Vestry and the Search Committee have received this information and it is important to make you aware of it as well.

Our Parish Profile has been submitted to our diocese and is now posted on the Churches in Transition page of their website

We are thankful to Patty Benoit and Ami Hooper for overseeing this project, and also thankful for the other Vestry and Search Committee members, as well as other parishioners, who contributed to the profile. To say it is beautifully done is an understatement!

After a recent conversation with the Canon to the Ordinary, I have the following information to pass on to you, as our ‘next steps’ in the search process:

1) Our Parish Profile will also be posted on our Christ Church website in the near future. Along with the profile, there will be a ‘link’, provided by the diocese, that should be used for the purpose of submitting names for the search. Names submitted through this link will go directly to the diocese. This is necessary to keep the process confidential, which is of the upmost importance.

2) The Search Committee will participate in the required training from the diocese in January, 2021. The Rev. Kellaura Johnson, the Diocesan Transition Minister, will be doing the training and it will be done via Zoom.

3) The Search Committee is made up of two current Vestry members and nine non-Vestry members. One of the current Vestry reps rolls off the Vestry in 2021. Some have asked me if Search Committee members are eligible to run for the Vestry. The Canon to the Ordinary has confirmed that Search Committee members may run for Vestry.

Please join your Vestry and your Search Committee as we continue to have patient trust in this process. Please continue to pray with us as we move forward into this next phase.

Almighty God, giver of every good gift: Look graciously on Christ Church,
and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a rector for this parish,
that we may receive a faithful pastor, who will care for your people
and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
