Staff Christmas Bonus
Each year we give our UCS family an opportunity to bless our teachers and staff by donating towards a Christmas bonus. This is a special time of year when you can show your appreciation to them. Please take time to prayerfully consider how you can participate. No gift is too small or too large.
All gifts designated as a Christmas bonus will be distributed equally among all teachers and staff. Please return to the School Office by Monday, December 13th.

Students are encouraged to participate in our Christmas Spirit Week! There is no cost to participate and polos are not required if you dress up.

Congratulations to Annette Kang (8th) and Alison Hite (2nd) for winning the UCS Christmas Card Contest!
Both of their winning designs will be featured on the cover of this year's Unity Christian School Christmas card! Students were given the opportunity to design their very own Christmas card! The 5-8th grade students created digital cards in Technology class and the younger classes had the opportunity to draw and color their card. We had so many great cards submitted!
Congratulations again to Annette & Alison!

Our students bought, packed, and prayed over 72 shoeboxes for Samaritan's Purse. A special thank you to Mrs. Bradley and her church, First Baptist Church in West Frankfort, for organizing the event and handling all of our boxes.
Thank you students and parents for participating in this year's Christmas mission, Operation Christmas Child. What a blessing you have been and a difference this will make in the lives of children. Your generosity, prayers, and gifts will be poured into the lives of soon-to-be disciples around the world. ATTENTION PARENTS & FANS:
Below are the masking guidelines to be followed for basketball games per Greg Hale, Director of the Southern Illinois Jr. High School Athletic Association (SIJHSAA):
Remember masking isn't optional, it's part of the Governor's Masking Mandate through the Illinois Department of Public Health. All players, coaches, bench workers, and spectators are required to wear a mask. The only exception would be a person with a written medical assessment from a physician that exempts them from wearing a mask dealing with a medical condition. These individuals must produce this written medical assessment in order to be exempt from wearing a mask.

Kindergarten - 8th grade is continuing FASTBridge testing, which is our assessment testing.
The 2021-2022 window of dates for testing
will be the following:
WINTER 2021
January 10 - 28
SPRING 2022
May 2 - 20
*Testing is set for a 3-week testing period in case a student is absent or sick.

PARENTS' PRAYER MEETING!
Come join us as we pray for our students, families, teachers, staff, and school! We will meet every Thursday morning from 8:15 - 8:40 am in the Technology Lab. Parents, grandparents, and friends of UCS are welcome!

Required Physical & Immunization Schedules
There is an Illinois State form to be turned in to the School Office for each of these required exams. Forms are provided by the physician's office.
Physical with immunization:
K5 and 6th, PAST DUE
Vision Exam: K5, PAST DUE
Dental Exam: K5, 2nd, 6th
due by March 15, 2022
Sports Physicals:
Due by first day of practice for 5th - 8th grade students participating in any sport including cheer.
