India appreciates Joe Biden administration's decision to back TRIPS waiver for COVID-19 vaccines


India has appreciated the Biden administration's decision to support a proposal moved by it and South Africa to temporarily waive some Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) rules amid the coronavirus pandemic.
81000 vials of Remdesivir arrive from US in Mumbai

Amid the record rise in COVID-19 cases in India, medical assistance is continuing to pour in from countries around the world, including the US, Singapore and Australia. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) informed that 81000 vials of Remdesivir from the US arrived early on Wednesday morning in Mumbai.
India's April exports up 197% on low base; trade deficit widens to $15.2 bn

India’s merchandise exports nearly trebled in April to $30.21 billion over the same period year, mainly due to low-base effect, as Covid-19 induced nationwide lockdown a year ago had temporarily stopped economic activity.

US pharma giant Pfizer has donated medical supplies worth $70 million, including drugs to treat Coronavirus disease (Covid-19), to India, the company said in a statement on Monday, adding it was in talks with the Indian government to expedite its Covid-19 vaccine approval in India.

PerkinElmer to Donate 1 Million Rapid COVID-19 Antigen Tests to Combat the Pandemic’s Second Wave in India

PerkinElmer Inc., a global leader committed to innovating for a healthier world, will donate 1 million PerkinElmer COVID-19 Antigen Tests to the Government of India to help accelerate testing capabilities across the country. With the support of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF), PerkinElmer COVID-19 Antigen Test kits will be distributed to government hospitals and testing centers across 10 states of India.
Cipla ties up with US pharma Eli Lilly to make, sell Baricitinib for COVID-19 treatment in India

Cipla Ltd has entered into a licensing agreement with American pharma company Eli Lilly to expand access to COVID-19 treatment in India. The Mumbai-based company said it has signed a royalty-free, non-exclusive voluntary licensing agreement with Eli Lilly for baricitinib.
