Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time
February 13, 2022
Greetings!

This weekend, we hear about Jesus’ teachings on the Beatitudes. We will immediately notice that Luke’s version is different from that of Matthew. And one of the reasons is the nature or the composition of the community to whom the gospel was written. Matthew writes for a more Jewish community thus depicting Jesus as the new Moses, the Lawgiver while Luke, a gentile convert emphasizes the universality of God’s love.  Read More...

The Jewish Root of Mass

One of the most common questions asked during Liturgical and Sacramental catechesis is this: “Why do Catholics do that?” In other words, what are the roots of Catholic Liturgical worship? Where does Catholic worship come from, and what light might its origins shine on its present day meaning? Children's Offertory Envelopes

Children’s offertory envelopes are now available and located inside the front doors of the church. The envelopes are bundled in packs of eight. The envelopes contain a place for the child to list an intention, as well as a talent and gift of theirs to offer up for the week.
If the supply of envelopes in the church runs out, and you would like more, please contact Merry Reardon merry.reardon@dsj.org
ANNUAL DIOCESAN APPEAL
Thanks to those who have already responded with a gift to the 2022 Annual Diocesan Appeal. To date,128 households have pledged $78,951.00 -- that is 26% toward our goal. There is still plenty of time to respond with a gift to this year’s Appeal. Gifts can be made through our parish office or the Diocesan website. Thank you!
GROWING OUR FAITH
Hallow App
Taking Care of Our Mind, Body, and Spirit

Did you know that the Hallow App has a whole series on mental health? You can find various meditation series: Healing Wounds, Healthy Habits, Addiction, Stress & Anxiety, Relationships, and Grief.

In the Healing Wounds series, Dr. Bob Schuchts and Sr. Mirian James narrate a meditation focused on healing through Christ. The first session is a meditation on your baptismal identity in Jesus Christ. That sounds like a great place to start.

The App also has a section for children. Pray together as a family or encourage children to begin their personal journey with God.

A generous donor gave our parish free access until Easter. Check out the app today!
