We highlight SWEA's and South Ward's own Asada Rashidi in our first webisode. Followed by Kim Gaddy and Khattim Sherrer.

  • Asada serves as the Environmental Justice Organizer for SWEA. Asada's primary focus includes leading our Air Quality Monitoring project. Asada also assists with special projects, supporting staff and facilitating communications with alliance members and the South Ward community.

  • Kim is the Founder and Executive Director for SWEA. In terms of environmental organizing and advocacy work in Northern New Jersey, Kim is known nationally as a trailblazer. Kim is also a Russ Berrie Making a Difference Award Honoree 2021.

  • Khattim is the Executive Director for the Clinton Hill Community Action (CHCA) non-profit in Newark, NJ. CHCA's mission is to collaborate with residents and other stakeholders to catalyze physical redevelopment opportunities that are equitable, values community voice and contributes to a safe, healthy and economically vibrant arts and culture community.

Later in December, we will highlight our state wide partner Amy Goldsmith.

  • Amy is the State Director for Clean Water Action. Clean Water Action's mission is to protect our environment, health, economic well-being and community quality of life. Clean Water Action organizes strong grassroots groups and coalitions, and campaigns to elect environmental candidates and to solve environmental and community problems.
