Our August 2022 Newsletter
Our annual August sale begins today.

During the state's annual tax holiday weekend on August 13 & 14, Massachusetts sales tax will be waived on most retail purchases. As we have for many years, we’re marking the tax holiday with a month-long special event. This year we're repeating the very successful format of last year's August sale by offering a 30% discount on everything in our showrooms and on our website. The sale will continue during the entire month of August.

Purchases shipped or delivered out of state are always exempt from sales tax, but if you live in Massachusetts and wish to take advantage of the tax savings, payment must be made during the tax holiday weekend. The 30% reduction will remain in effect throughout the month, but the tax savings, over which we have no control, is limited to the tax holiday weekend.

While we expect this to be a predominately online sale, our showrooms will continue to be open on Sundays throughout the month to enable in-person shopping as well both days of the tax holiday weekend. To see what's in our showrooms or to shop remotely, simply visit our website and click on any gallery. Everything in the six galleries is subject to the discount (except our candles).

As usual, clicking on a gallery thumbnail will bring you to the individual item page containing more pictures, details, and the list price. Since we haven't altered the list prices, shoppers should multiply them by 0.7 to determine the sale price. For example, a piece listed at $195 would cost $195 X 0.7 = $136.50. Free shipping is still available where noted, and we'll be happy to deliver larger pieces within a 100 mile radius for a modest fee.

A note about layaways: Because of the conditions of the tax holiday, layaway purchases by Massachusetts retail customers are not exempt from tax.

The Back Page
A path through a garden? Yes, and no. Actually, an early 20th-century trolley bridge across the Deerfield River, transformed into a beautiful garden walk with more than 500 annuals and perennials as well as beautiful views of the river.

We visited the Bridge of Flowers in nearby Shelburne Falls last week and took a few pictures. Click the garden path to see them.
Thanks for reading.

Our shop is open on Sundays through Labor Day weekend and almost anytime by appointment. We'd love to see you.

Stay well; be safe.
