ADVOCACY IN ACTION
VICTORY ALERT: MWD Passes Delta Conveyance Project Funding
On Tuesday, BIA testified in support of the Metropolitan Water District's Delta Conveyance funding plan. The Building Industry Association believes in an “all the above” solution to meet our water infrastructure needs. The Delta Conveyance Project is one of many steps we must take to ensure the region’s water resiliency. Reliable water for housing hinges on the successful operation that the proposed project will provide. Read MWD's Press Release here.
OPR Releases Draft Fire Hazard Planning Document
Last week, the Governor's Office of Planning and Research (OPR) released a Draft Fire Hazard Planning Technical Advisory document. BIA-LAV will be working with the California Building Industry Association (CBIA) to weigh-in during the comment period, which ends on December 18. We're concerned that this document could negatively affect housing production based on some of the suggestions made to local governments.
